Yesterday morning a lightning strike took our Starlink. I'm now using our Mini that we travel with.
Starlink is sending me a new unit but it could be a month as they are back logged.

Here it’s 54 and partly cloudy. We had a nice rain last night but only .07 inch. The month of June has brought us only .26 of an inch total. Normally June is a cool wet month but not for the last several years. High today of 70 something with more rain this afternoon and a possible thunderstorm.

4 inches of rain is almost ½ of our normal yearly rain fall (including melted snow), highest recorded wind gust was 72mph and I've never seen hail larger than a bb and any hail at all is pretty rare. We do have extensive wildfires most years, the hillsides are already looking as dry as they get in August and even though it's illegal in most of Eastern Washington the idiots will be out shooting off their fireworks in a few days. Just had a brush fire yesterday less than 10 miles south of me, luckily there were a couple of water planes returning from a fire to the north of us who saw it and got right on it, helped that the fire was very close to the Columbia River so they didn't have far to go to re-fill their tanks. No details yet but they said the fire was human caused.

That is some wind!

Town where I lived measured a 131 mph straight line wind gust. It has basically destroyed this town of 750 people. Totally destroyed the nursing home, residents were moved to school gym.

Highmore destruction numbers.
80% of homes had damage
90% of businesses had damage

56 and cloudy. We didn’t get the rain overnight that was expected. Booo we need more. Later we expect the sun to return and stick around the rest of the week and into the 4th of July Happy 250th America weekend.

My planned mowing yesterday got de-railed by Mrs hatchdog wanting to clean the window blinds before the window washer guy got here. We have wood slat style (don’t now what they are called). They’re about 2.5” wide and plentiful. My job was to remove each slat, hand it off to her for cleaning and them put it back. Took several hours, this set plus three more single windows.

We use a double sided swifer duster. Shove it between the slats and swipe. No disassembly required.

58 F in Ventura by the coast. It says around 70 F today, but it has been warmer than that any given day.
It's still pleasant, coffee is excellent! So far, so good.

51this morning with a high around 75 expected. Partly cloudy with sunshine hanging around all day. Nice going forward getting warmer heading to the upper 80’s by the weekend. It’s going to be perfect camping weather for all the holiday campers out there.

Not much on tap for today other than it being a “run around” day.
