Regional Henry gatherings
Has anybody ever tried to get some of the folks from a specific geographic region together for an event at a range that's at least semi-centrally located? I've done such things before with people from trapshooting, pointing dog and fly fishing boards and it was always a good time, and I know there are several other Californians on here (and perhaps a few Nevadans, Arizonians and/or Oregonians?)
It's a great opportunity to get to know people face to face and look at/try out their guns.
Would anybody have any interest?

That is a good idea, ditchparrot. Would be nice to have it happen here in the KCMO region, too. I used to live just south of Portland, so if I were there I'd opt to join the West Coast folk!
BTW, I noticed your location you have under your avatar. I live probably less than 15 miles south of Paradise, MO. Nice rural countryside there, and the quaint hamlet has some great-looking older homes. It also is home to one of our KC trap-shooting ranges.
Best on getting a regional get-together together!

I had a nice lunch with RetiredSeabee when he was in my neck of the woods. That's it for me.

I brought up the same idea a few months ago and the consensus was there just weren't enough active members in the same area to make it work. I'd love to go shooting with anyone interested in Southern California or surrounding area!

It's a nice idea, but hard to do. RSb was on a trip where he traveled all over Upstate NY. He got close to me and it worked out. Perhaps if people include a search for members in an area where they are traveling to or will pass by on the way there?

Re: Regional Henry gatherings
we've done that on another forum and found doing so works for us .... example : we plan to spend most of the winter in our camper in Texas .... a few weeks before we go I start a thread over there trying to find and contact members who live in the Houston area .... we usually find interest in trying to arrange a meet and eat and we go from there .... after Christmas I plan to do that on this forum ....daytime dave wrote:It's a nice idea, but hard to do. I did that back in 2003 with one of my on line NASCAR racing leagues. We planned many months in advance and all ended up at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the spring race. About 8 couples actually showed up for the weekend.

Anyone here near the Warren County ( Phillipsburg) area of N.J. I have permission to shoot up the hill in my backyard. Have the ability to go out 200 yards or more. We usually get together every Sunday and meet at my place at 8. Get about 2 hours time in. During the warmer weather we host breakfast outdoors. Colder we sit inside and B.S. and an occasional breakfast or even a glass of wine. Any members in the area please let me know. Weather permitting ( we were up there this past weekend, gloves needed!)

Jon4ta, that sounds like a good time! Wish I was closer!
On another gun forum I belong to, we have had a couple of annual meet and greets! Turned out that 4 of us live within a 10 mile radius and we now try to get together monthly!

Somehow I can't see the "Henry 3 Man Shoot" T-shirt being a best seller...
