Well, a busy day. We left at ten this morning and drove to Mesa and met with Carol's younger sister and her son at Portillo's for lunch. We both love their hot beef sandwich with hot jardinière, wet, along with fries and a coke. :D

We got back this afternoon and did a few chores, had a nice dinner of an all beef hot dog, chips, beans, Carol's home made relish, (she makes it out of Zucchini's), and some home made chip dip. Burp!

Now, after a nice bike ride, I have a Miller High Life in my easy chair while she says her rosary. Later she will make me a nice Gin Martini, (shaken, not stirred).

Life is good. :D

The last couple of evenings we have been watching Indiana Jones in the different movies they made with a Harrison Ford. Old, but entertaining in that they are mostly comedy.

Just got back from eating at Papadeuax's Seafood in Albuquerque. Seems kinda funny eating seafood in the high desert, but it was good. Carol and a white wine and fried oysters while I had a nice craft Lager beer with a pasta dish in a Cajun sauce with crab, shrimp and octopus.

We go there every time we pass through here. Now for a martini.
Tomorrow will be Amarillo and The Big Texan for dinner.

Drove 325 miles across the state to take a granddaughter to a 16 team 6th grade girls basketball tournament. They’ve won all their games and made semifinals tomorrow morning. If they win they play later in the afternoon. My granddaughter also was called up to play on 7th grade team, so she’s playing 2 tournaments. Her mom is pregnant and can’t travel and Dad had to stay with the mom and is on fire dept. and ambulance duty. So we were more than happy to chauffeur her about.

The 6th grade girls lost the championship game so they were runner-up’s!

A cold wet cloudy day for sure. We got the grocery shopping done, took out the garbage went to town and got a haircut, and now I'm sipping a bottle of water prior to pouring a shot of Maker's Mark. It's nice to be home.

Last evening, just before dark I was watching the news and glanced out the window. There in the oak trees between the house and the lake were a number of Wood Ducks flying from tree to tree looking for nesting holes. I have two wood duck boxes by the lake and I saw one hen go into the closest one to the house. They hit that hole going full blast and it's a wonder they survive the impact.

The wood duck almost went extinct a few decades ago but sportsmen and environmentalists started putting up the nesting boxes. There are quite a few around the lake. The biggest factor was the decline of the Piliated Woodpecker which made nesting holes in dead trees which the wood ducks then took over the next year. The pileated woodpecker is red crested and black and white and crow sized. Luckily we have several pairs of them here on our lake and see them almost daily. We are listed by the DNR as a "Primitive Area".

It has been my pleasure to live here more than 40 years now.

After a long hard day bringing the lawn out of its winter doldrums I rewarded myself with a cold one. Sat out on the patio with my wife and dogs and after one I had another. It’s just a little bit too cold to sit on the shady patio in the late afternoon but we did it anyway. Come on spring.

It's just after 5 o'clock here. Time for a much needed vodka and tonic. It's unusually warm for this time of the year. I'm going to sit out on the deck with the rest of the drink.
Just for the heck of it, I moved to the deck mid post. I'm testing the range of the new router. It's doing fine.
The mesh router it replaced didn't always mesh. The two satellites didn't always want to come back on after power outages.
This one does the whole house just fine.

The daughters baby shower is over with, had a granddaughter’s birthday dinner over to our house Thursday night and last night we took my son & family to a habachi restaurant for a birthday dinner. Now it is time to just set back, put a movie on and have an ice cold Dos Equis. To all who visit here and to the entire forum, Salud🇲🇽

Sounds busy the brm.
Grandson was spending the night and 5 mins after we lay down, he decided he wants to go home.
Mom meets us halfway, still nearly an hour round trip.
So I'm up having a late double before going to bed.

He has spent the night numerous times in the past, just every once in awhile. He has done this, but he's our miracle grandchild. So.
Side note other than us, he won't stay anywhere else and home. Great boy, and a deer slayer.🙃
