Another win tonight against a much better team. We out scored them 51-27 in the first half and held on to win 84-61. Yes they out scored us 34-33 in the second half. We play the number two seed tomorrow. It will be a much harder game.

Congrats to the Bucs now go get that state title. As you most likely remember, the State B championship is happening in Spokane this week. So much fun for the smaller schools from the smaller towns around to compete in the “big city”. I’m sure after playing in the home and away small gyms all year playing in the big Veterans Arena (replaced the old coliseum from our youths) in Spokane is a real treat.

I’ve been to the old coliseum many times. In football all the Washington teams would have their finals in the Kingdom. Must have been a kids dream to play in a 65K seat venue.

The 4A basketball state tournament is held in the Tacoma Dome. Tonight the Gonzaga Bullpups from Spokane (not to be confused with the Gonzaga Bulldogs college team) play the Richland Bombers in the championship game. Like the State B teams playing in Spokane it’s a treat for the local high school teams to travel to the west side (Tacoma, south of Seattle for ya’ll in the East and the South ). So much fun for the High Schoolers all over the nation.

Tacoma also known as the armpit of Seattle. Actually the Tacoma Dome is rather nice.

We had to buy the tickets online as they expect the game to sell out. Tonight’s game will be the last played in a high school. The winner goes on to play in the Tournament in Madison and the loser goes home.

Thanks. We jumped out to a 7 point lead in the first 2 minutes and then kept that lead going from 5 points ahead to 9 points and back the rest of the 1st half. Then in the 2nd half we slowly kept slipping back until we were 11 points behind. Then we make a big run halfway through the 2nd half to win 59-50.

This was a hard fought game with both sides wanting the win. These are all winner advances and the loser goes home. We now switch to a tournament play and are guaranteed 2 more games.

Congratulations to Prentice. What a fun game to watch but a bit nerve wracking too. Best of luck in the tournament.

The Gongaza boys lost last night to the Richland Bombers by 14. Second place in the state 4A tournament is nothing to be ashamed of.
