Not much happening at Cypress today. Everything was heavily backlit.

Despite the back lighting that’s still some pretty vivid colors you captured.

Here is the link to the Member's Choice contest winners. FYI tier 1 is for professionals and those who have won either top prizes, or multiple prizes in past contests. Tier 2 is for anyone else. If you click on one of the low resolution images on the page, it will pop up in a higher resolution image.

Re: Clovis" 2026 Images
Haven't been able to get out and shoot due to covid hanging on. I'm pretty much over it now, and have a few more days until I can go out without a mask. I know, the masks are useless, but I want to do my due diligence. Anyway I got the idea to try a different editing approach to one of my previous shots. I don't do a lot of B&W on wildlife, but occasionally, it is an improvement over the color version, and often it is just an interesting variation. I think this is an improvement. I may have said this before, but I don't mind criticism of my shots. If you don't care for it, tell me so, and let me know why, if you can identify what you don't like about it. I appreciate honest feedback.
Here is the original color version.
And here is the B&W version. I did blur the background a little in the B&W version, as well as lowering the exposure for a little better subject separation. Some may prefer the color, and others the B&W. A lot depends on individual taste.

I like them both, but If I had to choose...it would be the one with color. The shades in his mane are beautiful.
