I like the contrast as well. It was in the 40s and 50s when we left but I knew it would get cold again, and it did.

35 earlier this morning and a beautiful sunny sky now. Watched the Hockey Gold Medal match this morning, congrats to Team USA on the win. Rain coming in tomorrow and warmer temps expected this week.

30º and snow again. Have 2-3 inches and supposed to get that much more again before it is over. Will wait and see with the lake effect from Lake Michigan.

We're having a real BLIZZARD today. Whiteout conditions at the moment.
National Weather Service wrote:Issued: 1:52 AM Feb. 23, 2026 – National Weather Service
...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between
9 and 14 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut and southeast New York.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make
travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. The strong
winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and
could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult
to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce
visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday
morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

We visited my old friend in the Nursing Home yesterday. Sad, the stroke has left him
speechless. We then went to a wine tasting at a Vineyard with his Wife.
We'll visit him again today and then tomorrow we start on our odyssey across Texas, New Mexico,
and then to Casa Grande, Az where we will spend a few weeks with friends.

Bummer Coop, leave Minnesota, travel to Texas and still wake up to below freezing temps. Hopefully Arizona will treat you better.

36 this morning and foggy after rain most of the night. Not a great day for a walk in the park. Doubt we will see much increase in temp but the rain at least for my area is expected to end. More rain the the east and the south.

Mrs hatchdog has a doc appt this morning otherwise nothing planned for the day. Tomorrow our new dining room set is scheduled to be delivered. We’re excited about that.
