Gun Bash

Post by GFK » Sat Feb 07, 2026 7:08 pm

I attended my first Gun Bash today, all of the food and beer you can eat and drink for a donation of $50, with door prizes of money and long guns. It was in support of the local fire department. Small towns around here seems to do such things. Well, after sitting down and drinking a beer, I got the door prize of $2,500. I got up and got another beer, collected my prize and went to the LGS, who supported the event. I saw a Savage Stance, which seems to be discontinued. Is anyone on the forum familiar with one?

🤣 I went into a LGS a few days ago, looking to buy myself a present. Nothing stood out to me. The clerk suggested that I buy a Gun Bash ticket. So, I did. After winning, I went back to the LGS again looking to buy myself a present, using part of the winnings. I was looking for a 9mm around $500 that could handle +P continuousl; it seems that some sub-compacts are not rated for continuous fire of +P ammo. The Savage Stance caught my eye. I figured that I should spend some of the winnings at the shop. Yet, I will see.

Stance or Stance XR. I've not seen or shot one but the main thing I'd be concerned about is several reviewers did not like the trigger, long and heavy pull, even the XR shows as having a 7 or 9 lb pull which seems kind of high for a single action striker fired gun. I didn't see any articles saying it was capable of shooting continuous +p.

Good article on some of the best micro 9mm's

Thanks for the feedback! It is a Stance. I took a look at the manual at the LGP, and it noted the +P rounds could be used continuously. But, +P+ rounds should not be used.

I have seen both positive and negative reviews on the firearm. This is a somewhat positive one: https://www.americanrifleman.org/conten ... ms-stance/

I am in no hurry. I may wait and see if a Smith & Wesson M/P show up.

Here's a search for micro's than can handle continuous +P ammo.

https://www.google.com/search?q=what+su ... s-wiz-serp

I wouldn't mind trying out the Shield Plus or the Hellcat although I once had a Springfield XDS and while it was very nice for carry (I could almost forget I was carrying it) I couldn't shoot it worth a darn.
I'll stick to my Beretta PX4 Compact, a little bigger and heavier but I'm a pretty good shot with it and I really prefer a DA/SA hammer fired pistol. Not many of those in a sub compact, Beretta has a PX4 SC but they haven't made any for many years and are difficult to find. Years ago I had a chance to buy one chambered in .40 S&W. It was used but in like new condition, really should have bought it.

Congratulations on the win.
I don't have much experience with the micro nines except the few I have observed being shot need a FIRM grip. Less than firm often resulted in malfunction.
