The Seattle Seahawks beat the arch rival LA Rams yesterday in a close hard fought game. And for me the New England Patriots beating Denver in miserable snowy conditions also gives me joy. Why does this guy in the Inland Northwest care about a team 3000 miles away? Well, eleven years ago the Seahawks played the Patriots in the Super Bowl. At the end of the game the Hawks were down a few points, had the ball on the Pats 2 yard line and it was only second down. Their monster running back Marshawn Lynch was ready and raring to go. So what does the coaching staff for the Hawks call for a play? A stupid pass that was intercepted by NE who then were able to run out the clock for the win. I’ll never forget the look on the superstar QB Tom Brady’s face when the int happened. Obviously Brady had the same opinion of the play selection as us Hawks fans did.

So, with the Patriots playing the Hawks this year the opportunity for redemption has arrived.
I've only started watching the NFL this year, and just sporadically, as another benign outlet to escape reality. The real world is hard to believe; and for a news junkie, this has been some kind of twilight zone, insane decade. I'm dosing my exposure to it for my mental health and the NFL has helped (along with that incredible UCONN Women's BB team).

I'm looking forward to the game next week. Even the half-time show. I don't know much more about Bad Bunny other than he's from Puerto Rico and selling out crowds around the world, so I'm curious about his music.

But those last two games played by the SB contenders were awesome. This could be an amazing game. I hope so. I really need the distraction.

I don't watch television. Got enough as a kid I guess. I can get current events on my computer as I choose. I have plenty of things to do and when I am ready to relax I read.......mostly junk.......but I read before bed.

I love sports. Especially football because i enjoy the sound of bones breaking. I hope to see some hard action in a close game the 12’s win.

I had a cleaning party in the oddy where we watch the games. It was abandoned when the temperature went south of the minus thirty’s. We left dirty dishes that stayed frozen for weeks. With the warmer weather the wood stove should heat it easily.

GO SEAHAWKS!

You have to be a Pats fan because it’s not like the Vikings will ever win a Super Bowl. :D :D :D :D :D

Actually, I never have been a Viks fan. I'm smarter than that. I lived in DC for almost twenty years and loved the Skins. Of course that was when they were in their hayday. Now I have cousins in Green Bay and a daughter in Buffalo so I follow those teams, but mostly I just like good football.

A large group of Vik fans died and went to hell.
The devil figured being from Minnesnowda they would probably like the heat so...
He made it cold.
Didn't phase the Vik fans at all so he kept turning the temp down until hell froze over.
He sent his rep to see how the Viks liked that and when he came back asked for a report.
He said the Vik fans broke out the grills, brats and beer and said since hell froze over,
The Viks must have won the Super Bowl.

I thought you were going to tell me about the Brewers never winning the World Series.

Went to watch the grandson play basketball yesterday and was talking with the son. He's a Big foozeball fan, so I asked him won he wants to win. He said Seattle, so that NE wouldn't pass the Steelers in SB wins. 😅
