Have wondered why none of them make mid level shooter loads of 44 Magnum like 200-240 gr bullets at 900-1000 FPS? Folks with revolvers would enjoy and shoot more of it and reloaders could take a break and buy a few boxes to enjoy that level of 44 Mag shooting too!
Thought of this while loading my 44 Mag loads of 240 gr Xtreme plated bullets over 9 gr. of BE-86. Have a new box of MB bullets 240 gr. SWC coming in today.
Happy New Year All!

I think that some of the hotter 44 special loads cover that.
Re: Are the ammo makers missing out?
I almost never buy factory ammo but I agree on the virtues of mid-range loads. An example would be my 629 Mountain Gun. A full power factory load is downright painful but a 250 gr. cast bullet over 10.2 gr. of BE 86 clocks at 1040 fps and is plenty powerful while the recoil level is manageable. After all, shootin' is supposed to be fun!

Other than rimfire and shotgun ammo, I rarely buy factory ammo. That is usually some kind of rifle stuff just to see how it compares to my handloads.
I can't remember the last pistol ammo, oops, edit: I did buy some 9mm year before last, just because it was cheaper than I could load it.
Other than that, none.
That's why I learned to load to begin with.
