I like it just because it stirs some of a certain group up.

Just amazing. There is a couple of ya that just showed up here to stir things up because of the title of this thread. Instead of just keeping your mouth shut and enjoying a picture I took the time to post. Why don’t you come down take your own picture and post it how you want to with whatever title you want.

Would love to jot down and enjoy the view with ya buddy, in the Gulf of America. But we're currently enjoying some of the grands over in SC.

Beautiful picture Al. Wish I was there with you! It was a balmy 29 degrees on the frozen tundra today but I was shootin' from a heated shack.
Re: Gulf of America moon time
Ya, I just showed up on site about 8 yrs ago. I think I will keep using the correct title (along of the rest of the world) as it has a nice ring to it. However, I do like "The Gulf of South Dakota" title as that was my home state.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:42 pmJust amazing. Pretty picture, Al. I didn't mean to offend you or anyone else (Randy). I just wanted to share a little information with folks that seemed to be unaware of it.
So, I know you'll take this criticism as it was intended. Your photo of the moon on the water is nice, but it would have benefited by showing a little bit more of Texas in the foreground, like an overhanging tree branch, and something up close on the ground. Framing a composition happens inside the camera. If you want to improve your images, check out a graphic concept called the rule of thirds, too. It's pretty neat.
Regardless, thanks for sharing your travels and pictures with us. Looking forward to seeing more. You're on a retirement adventure I have never had and never will. I envy you.

I do miss the heart. It seems almost every forum I watch changed to this new format that no one likes very much.

I know. Replying with a heart just isn’t the same.
Just wish we had the "like" back. Some posts are more appropriately liked, rather than loved.

The like is not coming back. It conflicts with the programming of the whole site.
This thread is closed. I'm sick of vague political references.
For those of you who didn't go there, thank you. It is indeed a nice photograph.
For the rest, if you don't have anything nice to say, DON'T SAY IT!
