Christmas fudge

Post by Hatchdog » Wed Dec 24, 2025 11:14 am

As a kid my mom was an excellent baker and I have a well developed sweet tooth. :( She made it all but my all time favorite was fudge. She only made it at Christmas and I looked forward to it every year. So I have taught myself how to make it, not that’s it very hard. But it is easy to make it wrong, use the wrong ingredients or cook it too long or????????? Anyway I got it figured out and here’s yesterday’s effort. It’s as good or maybe better than my mom’s I say with confidence! Like her, I only make it once a year at Christmas. Too tempting.

Any other Christmas treat creators on here :?:

My mom was also a excellent baker but it was my dad that always made Christmas fudge and divinity.

The 2 things I miss most about my mom's baking were her sticky cinnamon rolls and her chocolate chip cookies (and her pies).

Since he said he made it yesterday and judging by the photo he posted this morning there may not any left.

I bragged to my golf buddies about my fudge. We are planning a get together for a burger and a beer and I have beeen instructed I need to bring fudge. Like Dave77 mentioned, I will need to make another batch for them.

Every Christmas I am designated as the goodie maker and I made fudge, caramels, divinity, penuchy, rock candy and peppermint almond bark.

Awwwwwww I love penuchy. There used to be a quality candy shop in downtown Spokane that sold it. Sadly they closed so no more for me.
