Goal reached

Wanted speed and accurate out of my 44 mares legs. I put a Marbles bullseye sight on it left the front as is. After a few hundred rounds of practice. Today I said good enough. I use a trigger stick standing and put five rounds HMS 305gr Bear load into a 1 1/2" group 25yds with three holes touching in under one minuet, about 40 seconds.Bear season opens back up sept. first.

I am guessing that speed and accuracy would be essential when facing down a bear.
Good luck and stay safe up there in big critter country.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday. ;)

having taken black bears with two different Ruger 44 mag revolvers, I certainly agree that accuracy is a prime concern .... but then that's pretty much the same with all big game .... speed helps and at times can be critical

I still do and also use my Talo Ruger SBH 3 3/4" 44mag. My Henry and Ruger both like the HMS 305gr bear loads, very accurate.

Another fan of those HSM 44 mag Bear loads. Every Ruger 44 mag I've shot loves them.

Speaking of the 44 mag ML, well, I watched a couple of videos, yesterday, that Henry has on their site. Yeah, in the past I have asked myself why a Mare's Leg, too, but now I'm asking myself, why not? Hey, it is a handgun, right? It can't be bad, then. Who knows, that could be my first Henry "rifle". :)

In a lot of situations you can have the Mare's Leg loaded inside your vehicle, unlike a rifle which has to be unloaded most of the time. But the real reason is in the shooting. There is just something about them.
