When I but together my 45-70 Mules Leg I borrowed the rear ghost ring sight off of my Marlin 1895 GS. So finally I got around to fitting the Rossi Mules Leg sight to the Marlin exactly same type horn sight but the dovetail base was a few thousandths wider and some filing and fitting was needed.
Got it tapped in place almost to the taped line mark I had made on the barrel and off to the range this afternoon.
A few shots and moving it to the right which was about centerline and a couple elevation clicks on the ramp and my target girl said it all looks great!
Was shooting 405 gr. cast bullets over 40 gr. of 3031 powder. Makes a very nice KABOOM!
Happy New Year All!

I am going to have to talk to someone at my range. We need target girls.

Target girls are great but mine ask me if I am ready to go home after 3 rounds fired but she does the best she can. She said the blast concussion was moving her chair around from our shooting position!

Mine will shoot once in a while, but normally stays in her workshop quilting.
When I come back up she always asks the same thing...
"Well, did you kill it?"

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
