We live south of the twin cities so the light pollution cancels out the northern lights. I did ask miss Carol to step out on the deck to see if we could see them and then I watched the security lights come on so there was no chance anyway.
However, I did watch my highly intelligent lawyer look to the east west and south as well as the north to see them.
When she came in I was laughing which was a big mistake.

Saw on Facebook that they could be seen here using a camera with a long exposure. I didn't try it.

My picture was about a 15 second exposure. With eyes that have adjusted to the dark the picture is about what it looked like.

In the mid 70s while living in Minneapolis area I was driving home after closing the family owned tavern at 3am. The entire sky was bright green and had the appearance of the ocean with movement of the light. No other color but it was intense even with all the city lights. Probably never see anything like it again but I do look.
Thanks for the picture.

This is caused by that 31/Atlas alien spacecraft that's tricked out to look like a comet.

It's all being covered up by NASA and the intergalactic astronomy cartel. ;)

They said we could see them looking towards the North horizon which for me is blocked by the tall trees of the woods across the street. So I drove up towards the soccer field hoping for a better view. No go there with a late evening soccer game going on with field lights on! That is one thing I have never seen in person.
