Range time with three of my .357 revolvers !

Post by fortyshooter » Tue Nov 11, 2025 10:42 am

Got out Sunday afternoon with my SW 686+.... SW 66 no dash and an old but nice Ruger Police Service 6 from 1976 which hung right in there with the SW boys! The Model 66 was made around 1976 also and still shoots well with nice trigger pull. For the new revolvers made today where QC can come and go...my new 686 Plus was really sweet out the box with EVERYTHING RIGHT! Great single and DA trigger like ones of old and great to have 7 shots of 357 Mag available in a somewhat compact package.
Those 2 pumpkins got the bad end of 7 rounds of hot 125 gr XTP 357 Mag ! And had great fun shooting the steel too!

Nice shooting. I love a good double action. I have some nice 38/357s in the safe.

It was COLD here yesterday, but should be in the 70s today. I plan to get on the range. Can't decide what to shoot. Some Revolver action, Single Actions? The M1A at 80 yards, or the Savage 22 at 25? We'll see when the temps climb this afternoon.

Went down and shot steel with the Ruger Blackhawk 357 today. Nothing special, just rang the six plates and the B27 so no pics. Will shoot again tomorrow with another single action and get more pics so I'll post them then. Look for the new thread so I don't hijack Forty's thread. LOL.
