Reassuring scope zero

Post by Vaquero » Tue Nov 04, 2025 8:49 am

Having not shot these two in a while and they "could" end up in the field this season I thought I should check and make sure they were still set. The Savage was off just slightly at 100, the yellow and orange dots were those first 2, but after a slight adjustment I got a decent little group.
Then the Marlin in 308mx, this one I know its been more than 2 yrs since I shot it. The ole stand by load of LVR was right on time at just a tick high at 100.
I then decided to tag the gongs. They are right at 160 yds from the bench. I believe if they go they will perform, as long as I do my part.πŸ˜‰

πŸ‘€ Nice groups. I have some steel I shoot with handguns, I guess I need to buy some steel good for rifle, would make my life easier.... πŸ˜ƒ
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Oh yeah. I love shooting the gongs.
Those 2 are situated so as I can see and shoot at them from the back deck. According to the rangefinder 223 yds. Inside the red circle. πŸ˜‰

And yes I've hit it from there. 357, 38-55, and the Marlin above.
Edit to add. Rossi Trapper 444 also.

Lol, yes it is. The day I was shooting at it, it had been raining so the ground was pretty soaked and I could see the splashes. So it made it a little easier to adjust.
Was shooting the 180gr pugnose bullets.
Somewhere in between they started tumbling, you could see the sideways impact
I've shot the same load at 140yds and they hit square.

Good shooting Randy and smart to make sure you're on, before heading to the woods.
