These are fantastic photos, CH. Great work.clovishound wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 8:51 pmThe Pup and I drove up to the Columbia Zoo and spent a chunk of the day taking pictures. I think this is the best batch of zoo pics I've had.
The site should be fixed. We show secure now, we should have a favicon and the picture aspect should be better.

Thanks to that remarkable scientist, Jane Goodall, for showing us how similar these creatures are to each of us, especially the primates. She changed so much about how we relate to other animals. I'm grateful.

After I posted these, I got the idea of converting the monkey shot to B&W. I think I really like this one in B&W. I may try fine tuning some of the blacks tomorrow. I'm pretty tired right now, and the onboard computer is not performing up to specs.

Re: Clovis' 2025 images
The Pup and I got out to Magnolia this morning to shoot some images for our club's Oct scavenger hunt. Tried a few fringe techniques. Started off as a misting rain with overcast. The rain stopped soon after we got there, but the overcast persisted all day.
This is a handheld long exposure that I operated the zoom during the exposure. It's known as ICM (Intentional Camera Movement). It can be interesting, but it's not something I want to shoot a lot of.
This was my favorite shot of the day. I like the soft, severely out of focus swamp sunflowers in the foreground, and just the sharp butterfly in the center.
I don't often shoot a lot of flower pictures, but the soft light and coating of raindrops had me taking a bunch.
This juvenile little blue heron (I think that's what it is) didn't seem to mind me creeping down the bank to get a shot of him.

Just discovered the heron picture is a tri colored heron.
