Road to the World Series

Post by Sir Henry » Sun Sep 14, 2025 8:51 am

Yesterday’s comeback win just put an X next to the team indicating they have clinched a playoff spot. They are the first team to do so this year. I’m going to have internet up at the Oddy (my new garage) by mid week. I’m really excited about baseball this year.

Eat your heart out Seattle.

I've stayed away from All so called Pro sports for several years now.
The #2 grandson has been playing some baseball the past couple years and is starting to really get into it.
Well, yesterday he was over and when we came in for a break from the woods, another of has great pass time fun. things to do when he comes here. ;)
He asked if there was anywhere to go watch a game around close. None, so I turned the TV on and found a game. He watched a little then we went and played more.
Then after supper we watched the end of the LA and Orioles game. LA pitcher Yamamoto, had a no-hitter going, 8 & 2/3's innings, 2 outs with a 3-0 lead. Then... with 2 strikes, the guy hits a HR. They end up changing pitchers twice and with the 2 outs and a number of batters getting 2 strikes.
They walked one and hit one and with a couple of hits came back and Won. It was pretty cool, apparently they had come from behind the night before also.
I may actually watch some of the World series this year.

We don't normally watch baseball during the Summer but when October comes around we get interested.
By October the best teams have been playing together all year and are honed to their finest skills.
We will watch the playoffs and then really enjoy the World Series.

We went to two Brewer games this year and have plans for a lot more next year. In the meantime I moved the 50” tv that was in the bedroom to the living room.

The Brewers are the NLC Champs for the fourth time in five years. We need to win at least two more to have home field advantage throughout the playoffs and World Series.

The surprising Seattle Mariners just completed a three game sweep of the Huston Astros. They entered the series tied and now have a three game lead. The magic number is three……. Not used to this for sure. :o

Maybe we will see a Brewers/Mariners World Series.

That would be fun but the big broadcast companies would hate it. Two smaller markets for them to try to exploit. My wife’s cousin’s husband is originally from Milwaukee and is a big Brewers fan. He would enjoy the series as much as he enjoys the Packers putting the beat down on the Seahawks. Something we can’t seem to agree on,

I should have done this three years ago. The Ultra High Def is a huge improvement. At times the antenna was almost as good however it was often terrible too

I’m really enjoying my new internet and UHD tv. I signed up for all out of market baseball and football games. Here I’m enjoying Game 2 of the Tigers at M’s.

Game one is tonight. I can’t wait. I’m paying $220 a month for television and there is nothing on worth watching. I’m going to cancel service after the World Series as I get Packer games on antenna.

We have been streaming a lot with the RV but the internet here at the house just wouldn't support it, so we purchased a Star Link setup.

At the top of the page is the deal we signed up for.

https://starlink.com

Our neighbor purchased the regular deal and tried to get them to lower the rate to what we have and they won't do it.
So far it works really well, in fact this weekend I and a friend will permanently install it on a post and bury the cable.
I'm thinking of purchasing another one for the RV.

I have found that with Amazon Prime I can find most any channel I want.

I’m thinking LA in five. Too much power and other talent (pitching). I would have predicted the same if the Mariners had beat Toronto.

My heart wants the Jays but my brain says the Dodgers.

I am torn.

Hate the Dodgers with a passion being a Giants fan.

I don’t want a Canadian team to win the World Series.

The Dodgers are loaded with so much talent that even Roberts can’t mess it up.

I just cancelled my DirectTV although I’ll continue to watch it through November 4th. By that time the World Series will be over. I will still get the Packers on antenna tv and now that most of the leaves have fallen I get great reception.

I’m not rooting for the Jays as much as I’m rooting against the Dodgers.

We both enjoyed a game we never expected as well. We have favorite Dodger players that we recognize and like to watch, but secretly we're rooting for the under dog. Toronto.
I know, we probably should be rooting for the US team but we've been to Canada many times fishing and they are fine folks. We always were treated very well and never had a bad experience. Just ignore the politics for now.
