Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
today got off to a slow start but its warming up rapidly .... 86 with a ReelFeel of 95 at 2PM .... predicted high 89 with a following overnight low of 65 .... no rain today (Tuesday) but on Thusday and Friday they are calling for heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon .... these storms can bring flooding downpours and localized damaging wind gusts ....we hope for much cooler fall type temperatures to move in within a week or so
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Well.......
Bright side of the forum being down, I got a lot of other stuff done that needed doing.
52' and sunny this morning. 87' later. Tomorrow likely similar, then fallish temps going forward. Next Monday some rain likely. Hopefully have the rest of the fire wood pile in by then.

I purchased a mounted snow blower for my tractor and I'm making sure
all the parts are there. It's easier to do it now and not when it zero.

57' and sunny this morning. Maybe 85' later. Looking like the last day of summer temps. From here it's looking like fall weather temps 60-70's and rain.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
yesterday (Wednesday) got off to a fairly routine start but things quickly unraveled .... a near record high of 94 accompanied by high humidity made it miserable to be outside .... first up, Maureen had her first medical checkup since her knee replacement two weeks ago .... bottom line, when it comes to her incision healing and her no longer needing a walker she's making a remarkable recovery .... unfortunately, it was discovered that a couple of blood clots have formed in her calf muscle .... bouncing from one facility to another during the process of diagnosis took us down a somewhat stressful path .... she's on a rather extensive treatment process that will take several months to complete .... this morning (Thursday) dawned under a clear sky but that is forecasted to change drastically later this afternoon .... we are told to expect a heavy thunderstorm late this afternoon; storms can bring flooding downpours and localized damaging wind gusts .... we have multiple outings on tap to pickup medication that have to be worked around her physical therapy session

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Jim, best to Maureen, sounds like a struggle and your weather isn’t helping.
47 with sunny skies and heading to around 80. But a cold front arrives around mid day bring winds of 20 gusting to 35. This could be a problem with all the wildfires still burning in the area, particularly near dave77 in central Washington. There are two big fires burning in his area. The fire that got close to our property is 90% contained but today could flare it up. Fingers crossed.
Me, I’ll be on a green golf course up in the mountains of northern Idaho so no fire problems. Maybe some rain next week.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Good morning, I have not checked in here recently. I'm still kicking, just not as high as before.
Had some rain around for the past few days and we needed it bad. It's 60° here this AM and says around 82 for later. Worked the past 3 days and finished yesterday and not working today.
A couple days ago after work I was over by the big gongs piddling around and I'm going to put in a little food plot.
I'm walking around a bit, stop and I turn around and see something black in this cedar tree, head high and 3 or 4 feet from me. Moved around to get a better look and oh my...
Big ole Rat snake.
Took a couple pics and left it be.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
72 very humid degrees at 8:20AM .... RealFeel 10 degrees higher .... forecasted high 84 with tonight's low dropping to 71 .... a heavy thunderstorm; storms can bring flooding downpours and localized damaging wind gusts .... they say we are in for 4 hours of rain .... due to the blood clots mentioned above, Maureen's surgeon had stopped her physical therapy for at least 2 weeks .... that sure helps to uncomplicate our schedule for a short while
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
46 now with a high of only 68 forecast. We had a cold front come in yesterday bring strong winds and lots of smoke from the fires over by dave77 yesterday. Thankfully this morning the smoke has cleared out considerably. Nice weekend expected sunny and 70-80 temps. Then on and off rain next week and for that we give a big thank you to ma nature.
Not much on tap for today, the local home builders association is having the fall festival of homes, new upscale homes on display open for the public to view. We may go out a visit a few.
The Seattle Seahawks tried real hard to give a certain victory back to the Arizona Cardinals last night but managed to stop the bleeding and hit a long field goal with no time on the clock to pull the victory back. I’m too old to have to deal with this. Good think I have a strong heart!

Yes, 2 big fires getting closer, especially yesterday as it was windy, supposed to be pretty calm for the next week so that will help. Yesterday was weird, lots of smoke from both fires but the smoke was blowing over us at a high altitude and it was very clear down low and could even see some blue sky.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 10:01 am46 now with a high of only 68 forecast. You could see the glow from the fire to the North last night, that fire would have to cross the Wenatchee River to get to Wenatchee proper and the Columbia River to get to East Wenatchee but it's a pretty large suburb on that side of the river.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
it was a dark and stormy night .... this is the notice we received this morning :
Outage Details:
Start:
09/26/2025 10:07 PM
End:
09/27/2025 7:17 AM
they say a tree came down on the lines which happens all too often .... considering the facts that the storm moved through fairly quickly, not much wind, less than an inch of rain, high in the sky lightening, no boom indicating a close hit .... 72 with a RealFeel of 80 at 10AM with rain on the way .... per AccuWeather "Dull and dreary with a couple of showers and a heavy thunderstorm; not as warm but humid; slow-moving downpours can lead to localized flash flooding" .... projected high 78 with tonight's low dropping to 66

The smoke staying above the valley floor certainly is a blessing. I saw an example in the link you posted. Our local weather folks are showing a smoke map with your area in the worst category. Hopefully your air will stay reasonable.’dave77 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 4:23 pmYes, 2 big fires getting closer, especially yesterday as it was windy, supposed to be pretty calm for the next week so that will help. 46 this morning with an overcast. Local news is preempted by the golf coverage so no current report but last I heard today was supposed to be sunny and mid 70’s. Not so…
This morning is run around day with a trip to nearby Idaho. Hitting the John Deere dealer over there for oil and filters for my tractor and hitting a boat supply store in the Spokane Valley for oil and filters for my outboards. I’ve had only Mercurys before and now a I have Yamaha’s. Don’t know how different they will be particularly draining the lower unit oil. Gonna learn, I ordered manuals for both the main and the kicker.

wow, hate the sound of that
for us ---- we have a foggy, 70 degree morning with a RealFeel of 73 at 6:30AM .... today's high forecasted to be 81, tonight's low should drop to 67 .... humid with low clouds but no rain until late tonight .... tomorrow rain from a tropical storm; slow-moving downpours can lead to localized flash flooding is on tap
