Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
52 this morning but a high of 87 is on tap. Quit it already, it’s turning to October soon! Cool down this weekend with a nice week in the upper 70’s expected. Thank you!

Been stacking mine. Got a ways to go.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 2:53 pm...
Took advantage of the cool weather and finished splitting what firewood I have. Won’t be enough for this winter so I may have to buy some. That will be a first for me as I always get enough off my place and from neighbors who don’t heat with wood to get by. I have five full trees cut into logs for next year but they are too green to burn this year.

I just claim Carol did it. She' dangerous when she's mad.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Mags, that’s a beautiful load of firewood. Nice to be able to stack at your pace, cold temps are still several weeks away.
50 this morning with 83 the predicted high. No fire in the stove this morning,
Sat out on the patio and I’m finding these morning temps are refreshing. Maybe some rain tomorrow but not much if we get any at all. Nice week ahead with more early fall like temps.
Today I hope to finish my limb hauling/piling project and move on to other winter preps. Today is the annual Apple Cup football game between the Washington State Cougars and the Washington Huskies. Sadly this year the Cougs are going to get smoked.

Thanks. Supposed to be all hardwoods. So far most of it has been Maple, and a few pieces of Cherry. When it was delivered, the guy told me he had to top off the order with some Doug Fir. Initially thought that would be fine, but in stacking I'm finding more fir than I want.
Similar fall like mornings here too. 53' and sunny. Maybe 83' later. Rain expected tomorrow.

53 and overcast this morning. High only in the upper 70’s as we have a cold front coming in as I speak. Possible rain mid day, sure hope so. Nice week ahead with more fall like temps.
Got my limb hauling/piling done yesterday with only some light clean up to do. Then cover the piles with tarps and wait for snow. Then it’s “let it burn”.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
73 humid degrees with a RealFeel of 81 at 11AM .... forecasted high 85 followed by an overnight low of 60 .... pretty dry here, no rain today (Sunday) with none mentioned in the extended forecast until Thursday/Friday .... 11 days since Maureen's knee replacement surgery .... she's come a long way but is still highly limited in what she is allowed to do .... only thing on today's agenda that requires leaving home is a trash run
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Rain came in this morning. Not a lot. Open areas wet. Under the trees mostly dry ground. Looks like it is done here. You might get some unless the Cascades bring the rest of it down.
55' and cloudy this morning. Supposed to clear up about noon and be mostly sunny and maybe 73'. Tues/Wed maybe 90's.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
overcast but low humidity .... its been very dry for a while .... today is Monday, the next significant rain isn't supposed to come until Friday/Saturday .... 61 RealFeel of 62 at 7AM .... 1 to 3 mph wind .... the predicted high later to day is 84 .... it supposed to be clear overnight with the temp dropping to 58 .... only thing that will take us away from home today is a meds run to Walmart

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
49 on my thermometer this morning with the official temp here 46. Feels a bit cool. High today in the 70’s with a couple of low 80’s this week. Yesterday we got some rain, about 45 minutes worth. The exact same 45 minutes I was mowing the lawn.
started when I did and ended at the same time too. The last night we had a distant thunder storm but more rain on us. Nice!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I'm glad Dave got the problem resolved in short order.
I'm your Huckleberry
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Thanks Dave…
A brisk one this morning at 44. I broke down and turned the heat on for the first time. It was 66 in the house and just a little bit uncomfortable. High of 78 so it will be a nice day. More of the same for several days.
Finished up splitting what firewood I have for the year. It won’t be enough however in the “que” I have probably 2-3 years worth on hand. It’s too wet to split and burn this year so I’ll just cut it up into rounds and stack for next springs splitting. Got the splitter cleaned up and fresh oil and treated gas installed. Time for its winter nap.
This is my “que” plus my neighbor called me yesterday and is having two more trees cut down so there will be more…..
