No word yet

Post by bandit1250 » Wed Dec 07, 2016 8:07 am

We are still waiting for the insurance people and the structural engineer to come and check the damage the car done to our home Sunday. I doubt we will be able to stay here if and when the work begins. They may put a trailer in our yard for us while the work is being done or my daughter said she will put her travel trailer in our yard for us while things get worked on. I am having problems sleeping more than two hours or so a night and wake up thinking another car is coming through the house. I will maybe be leaving the forum for a while and not sure if I will be back on later or not. I am going to have many days sorting through the rubble to see what may be something I can salvage out of this mess. I don't have any interest in the computer or anything right now. I will miss being on here with my fellow members that I consider my friends even though I only personally only met two when I met Hack and Squatch at the Gettysburg gun show. So I will say so long to every one and maybe come back in the future as I have come to really like this forum. I have a friend I go to shows with that has offered some help so that will be very much welcomed by my wife and I. She works full time and will not have a lot of time to help and with her busy schedule this time of year at the hospital and I can't expect her to have the time. So to all my friends here have a wonderful holiday season and enjoy time with the family and friends and be safe especially on the highways when traveling. Later, bandit1250

bandit, I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through at the moment. It must be heartbreaking for you and your family to see the devastation that has been done to your home. :(

I sincerely hope that you manage to sort out your living accommodation very soon. There is never a good time for something like this to happen, but being so close to Christmas must make it feel even worse.

All my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time, and I really do hope that you keep in touch and come back to the Forum once all of this is behind you.

To hear you say "goodbye" to us even for a time, Bandit, is a very sad & unwelcome note --- but understandable. I'm focusing most on your comment that you "are not sure whether or not you'll be back later." I'm writing just so you know that when you feel like it, I would like to see you come back, and the sooner the better, too.

Because of a very tough family time my wife and I faced during one Christmas, I know you both will make it through this okay. The shock & hurt will both pass away, you will get the things sorted out, and your house and daily lives will come back together --- maybe even more joyfully restored because of the victory over this battle!! Most thankful to hear that your daughter has quickly come alongside you guys and will put her travel trailer there for a dwelling place....that is great!

I'm with Les on this....will be thinking of you, and especially praying for you and your wife. Thanks very much for your holiday greetings to us in the midst of all you are doing. And remember, you closed your note by writing, "Later." I'll be looking for that "later" and will be glad to chat with you again. You will be missed.

God bless you both, and take much good care of each other. PT7

I can certainly understand how you feel and if it were me, in this situation, I am sure that my interest in forums and matters of less importance would be put aside also, at least temporarily. It is devastating to see what you have worked so hard for, be damaged and the inconvience that you may have to endure is certainly something that none of us would want to go through, as I said before, especially around the holidays, if ever. I wish you the very best with the insurance and the rebuilding process. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I think most of us here feel like we are extended family and you will be missed Bandit so please don't make a decision now not to come back. Things may look bleak now but I'm certain one day this will all seem like a distant memory. Feel free to check back in with us even if you can't post a lot.

Unbelievably sorry to hear about this latest event, bandit. It should show us all how even with your health and financial security, disaster can strike at any time from any direction.

Thank God you're both OK.
