Real life isn't like the movies

Post by daytime dave » Wed Sep 03, 2025 6:21 pm

I read an article today that saddened me in a few ways. It had to do with Sheriff Buford Pusser. It is being theorized that he killed his wife and shot himself instead of the mob trying to kill them. If you don't know who I am talking about, I'm referring to the sheriff in Walking Tall.
I was saddened to hear that a legend may not be as worthy of that status as always believed. Apparently they are saying there is credible evidence that he was a wife beater. Discrepancies in evidence make investigators think he may have shot his wife.
It's not like they toppled his statue, but it's similar. I know Hollywood tends to immortalize things. I watched the first movie and thought good things about him.

This is in my backyard so to speak, it's all been going on for a good while.
The area is south of us about 40 mile, cross one small county and it's the next, boarders Miss.
In all the local news.

I'm very suspicious of this story. This showed up on several YouTube channels about a week ago and I wonder if this didn't bleed over to other media. A lot of what is on YouTube is just speculation, twisted facts and hype to get views. So until I can confirm this story through a trusted source, I will continue to believe the original storyline.
