60 when I got up many hours ago. A big change from the upper 40’s we woke up to the last couple of days. It’s been a pleasant day with blue skies and a gentle breeze. Sitting on the patio now with drink in hand.

I saw a couple posts about the flooding at the Wisconsin State Fair grounds. Good thing you live on a hill Sir Henry. Did your power come back on?

Either I got the name wrong or they have changed it. On the Internet they go as "The Dry Branch Fire Squad".

Saw those videos from the Wisconsin state fair, what a disappointment for the fair goers. That was a lot of water, some had to wade thru waist deep water to get to their cars.

Here it’s 57 and sunny with a high in the low 90’s expected. Hot thru Tuesday then cooling down a bit with highs in the 80’s.

More trip preps today including groceries. We eat good on trips. :D The road in front of our place is going to be repaved starting tomorrow at 7:00am. My driveway is a nearly 180 degree turn, way too sharp to turn the RV and boat. So I have to drive up to the end of the road and turn around in the culdacac. Leaving mid morning tomorrow will put me right into the grinding mess so I plan to take the RV and boat to my neighbor’s place at 6:00. His place is on a different road that’s not being paved. It’s going to be nice to be gone durning the paving but on the other hand it would be fun to watch the process.

63 at 5:00 this morning. Hot today and staying that way thru Wednesday. Mid to upper 90’s, ugh :( . Then cooling off with highs in the low to mid 80’s.

Leaving this morning for the lake and it’s going to be hot setting up camp.

77 with a RealFeel of 88 at 10AM .... Maureen says the air feels heavy .... 77% chance of thunderstorms this morning tapering off between now and mid afternoon .... only thing on our agenda for today is picking up our 9 year old grandson at school and getting him to a dental appointment .... a hurricane is forming off the coast of Africa .... way too early to know much about its development or path .... this is the first one of this year's season that warrants monitoring for potential impact on the east coast

Sitting up in camp just down the Kettle River from our friend Redthies place. We’re on Lake Roosevelt about 3 miles from where the Kettle River enters the Columbia. It’s way too hot here and with no power we can only run the A/C with the generator. Of course we don’t run it after around 8:00 pm in consideration of others. Funny, when we got here yesterday the only occupied space in the entire place was right next to us and those folks were in a tent that they set up on the near edge of their spot, right where our genny is.

With the high yesterday in the upper 90’s the best I could cool down the RV was 82. When I shut the generator down this MH heated up quickly. It was a very uncomfortable overnight but did cool down to 62 outside this morning and right now there is a nice cool breeze. But, today’s high is expected to be in the 100 neighborhood so it’s going to be another uncomfortable night. We plan a long boat cruise today so as long as we’re moving we should be fine. Until we get back to this oven we’re living in for the week.

We’re rethinking our plans for the future. We love this place as it’s quiet and has a fantastic boat launch. But we may look into an RV park so we can have overnight power for the A/C. I guess we’re getting old.

77 with a RealFeel of 89 at noon .... predicted high of 81 before dropping back to 72 overnight .... periods of heavy and I do mean heavy, rain have been moving through since before daylight ..... they say it will be this way through tomorrow evening .... first up this morning was taking our 20 year old Chevy Trailblazer to a local garage for service .... its our daughter's daily driver for her daily 40+ mile round trip to work .... we've owned it since it was new and has served our family well .... no plan to part with it any time soon .... looks like our plan to haul off trash will have to wait for another day .... that said, tomorrow's forecast is for more of the same
