See Through Rings
Re: See Through Rings
I prefer to buy Leupold but I have also had good luck with Vortex.
I am also a member of Rimfire Central and have bought used scopes, always Leupolds, at good prices thru' the Classifieds.
Good luck with whatever decision you make.

According to the Amazon listing that scope is for Airsoft and Pellet guns. It might not hold together very long on your Stevens.GFK wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 5:53 pmThanks for the feedback!! This is the scope. My wife probably paid less than $50 for it. I have had it for about a year or so now. From what I have read, taller rings may be required for a large objective lens or for bolt clearance, which neither appears to be the case. Since it was a gift, I think that I will give it a chance. However, I still may look for a cheap set of rings. My Marlin 336W came with a cheap scope. Some 9 years later, it seems to be holding up. Worst case scenario, I may end up replacing the scope and rings.

Re: See Through Rings
I noticed that Mags. I have also seen, on other sites, where this scope was used on a high power rifle. Yet, it seems better than what came on my Marlin 30-30. It was a gift, so it was free. So, I don't have anything to lose. Therefore, I will probably give it a try.Mags wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 7:48 pmAccording to the Amazon listing that scope is for Airsoft and Pellet guns. Re: See Through Rings
A lot of eyebrows have been bloodied by those elevated rings. People get their scopes sighted in and then crunch down to check the irons....even an 06' can bite pretty bad then.

Im another guy who wants my scope to be a lowrider

Re: See Through Rings
Thank you! I am thinking about going to the range today. I should have a better idea after that. Hopefully, all will go well. I will keep in mind about the cheek weld.

Re: See Through Rings
All my marlins are setup to allow the use of scope or open sights, with open sights mandated for lever action silhouette I need a way to quickly swap between the two.
Easiest is the cheap alloy weaver rail, not being solid like a typical picatinny rail it allows the factory iron sights to be used with scope removed. A set of quick detachable rings lets me remove or replace the scope in seconds. While not cheap the Leupold QRW rings have never given me a problem even on 45/70 and return to point of aim very reliably.
Other option is the williams ace in the hole base, it is a solid picatinny style rail but incorporates an adjustable peep, was a little more work as on mine required a front sight riser to get it shooting correctly and depending on the scope, peep positioning and eye piece bell the peep may foul the scope so can take a little playing around to get everything to a situation where you can just remove/replace and switch between the 2 without having to adjust the peep. I like smaller scopes as low as I can get them so persisted with low rings and playing around with front sight height but medium rings probably would have eliminated the need and high certainly would have.
The weaver 63B mount is listed as also fitting Henry 30/30 & 45/70 but I have been unable to find anything for my big boys in pistol cals.

Re: See Through Rings
I was also going to mention cheek weld. I don't see how one gets a good cheek weld with those type of scope mounts. It's like for me anyway trying to shoot a Henry Golden Boy. The drop in that stock for me doesn't allow for a cheek weld

Re: See Through Rings
I have a couple of these for BB. The hole pair mount near the hammer. One of the 4 holes closest to the barrel is a couple 1000ths off, but fits close enough.
