SVG flipped the stage again, came out in 2nd behind Larson, team told him to chase him down and take the stage and playoff point.
He did it in half a dozen corners.
Looks like it will take a mistake from SVG, getting caught out with strategy or a caution for anyone to beast him.
Yesterdays xfinity went green the whole race apart from stage cautions and over half race distance today with only stage cautions
Just as I am about to hit submit we get the first caution for a wreck

I agree with you the points allocation is just garbage, SVG was dominant all day at Chicago and left with 40 points for the win, compare that to COTA where he was never in contention for the win wasnt even as top 5 car but left with 45 points finishing 6th.
Should not be anyway the winning driver/car isnt the highest points scorer even if a car has lead every lap apart from the last one and get beaten at the line.

3 restarts in the last dozen laps and SVG held off most of the field on fresh tyres, Briscoe did the same to finish second.
2 years ago he had never sat in a Nascar, now he holds the record with Johnson and Stewart for most wins in a rookie season, holds the record for most straight wins on a road course with Gordon and has a better win to start percentage than Earnhardt snr.
Barely half way through the season and he is already rewriting the record books, he will never get near the greats for wins and championships but if he gets to the stage of being competitive and hangs around for another 5 years who knows what he could do.

Road races are about the only race’s I watch besides the Daytona 500. Probably because I grew up going to Mid Ohio . I don’t know why NASCAR fans look down on it?
Beat and banging on the road!

I guess we could say the same thing down here in the Southeast. Nascar is originally and traditionally Short Track Ovals and that's why we like them. Some drivers out there are also being vocal on them including the King himself:

Exactly, Nascar was born on the ovals, and the road courses are boring to watch, it's mostly just follow the damn leader.
Maybe got two decent passing zones. If you were to go to one in person you can only see one particular area and have no clue what your missing.
Even when I was a fan I hardly ever watch those.
But as a driver I'd think those would definitely be the most fun to drive.

Same here. My opinion is nothing new. I felt the same way about road courses even 30 years ago.

I always wondered about being at one. Once the group goes by, you could probably go for a hamburger and have your lunch before they get around to you again. Good thing they have jumbotrons. Depending where you are sitting at.

I haven’t followed NASCAR enough to know about charter cars.

Nascar has succeeded in making small ovals, large ovals, and road courses boring. Ive got to be bored to watch one. Id rather watch a baseball game
