Some t-4 Fun.

Post by Vaquero » Fri Jul 11, 2025 3:59 pm

Well, if you follow the what did you do reloading thread. Then you know I stumbled across a some discontinued bullets for the fofofo's.
Actually Hornady still makes the bullet for their Superperformance ammo, but not as a reloading component any longer.
Well I loaded some to try in the new Rossi Trapper 444 that I grabbed back in Feb. Those rifle is still impressing me.
So one load is a tried and true load for the Marlin Sporter Safety as they are called with a 22" barrel.
The other is a load that is printed right on the bottle of H335, I actually did the research checking a couple manuals and it is 1,0 under the recommended max. load. :o Was I surprised with this, now it's only 55 yds. for now, I will do some farther testing.
After 6 rounds of each, I decided to slap the big silhouette. For your viewing pleasure is a short that the wife took for me.

The target pictures.
First is the H335, first 3 shots, let it cool then
3 more.

Then I did the same, but was too lazy to walk down and take a picture, actually it was starting to sprinkle so I was picking up some things. But, did mange another 3. That top high shot I knew it was bad as I moved just as the trigger broke. 8-)

Looks like you're on to something with those loads.
And that steel target sure showed the oomph behind that hit.
Nice!

They do hit hard, couple years back I snapped one of the chains that holds the center gong and that was with the heavy cast of mine. ;)
I do plan on some longer distances in the near future.
Joe, owner of the farm next door cut the hay in the field next to the house a couple weeks ago so I can setup for more distance.
Hopefully we'll get a few days of some cooler weather  but may just have to put early of the morning one of the next weekends.
Not tomorrow though. ;)

Man, that “fofofo” sure rocked that gong. Classic rebrand of the T-4.
