Holiday weekend range fun with son....

Post by fortyshooter » Mon May 26, 2025 11:24 am

Looked like Sunday would be the last best weather day for Memorial Day weekend so son Chad joined me for some range time. I brought my .36 cal Pepperbox shooter and my M1 Carbine and Chad brought couple of pistols and his AR in 5.56 to dial in new sight.

Loaded my Pepper shooter with 17 gr. Black MZ loads that were the paper type cartridge with the lead ball and managed a cheek hit on ol' Bart from 12 ft. and a wild can shot that put an interesting hit on the top rim of can and then nice exit hole on other side....trick shot! tossing it over the berm! Had a great afternoon enjoying the range with my son!

Looks like a great day with a pretty wide variety of firearms. Even better doing it with your son.
Love that pepperbox, and that Carbine is MINT!

Another tough day for ol’ Bart. The hit on that can is interesting. As is the firearm that produced it. :D

The M-1 is a fun gun to shoot. I had one once upon a time and sold it. Should of kept it. But everytime I shoot the PC Carbines it reminds me of the M-1. Do you reload for it Forty?

Always good to see folks out shooting and having fun. Love that M-1, too. Very nice.

That M1 Carbine I ordered thru Fulton Armory was built to GI specs with a better barrel 8 years ago and so far no issues with it. A very FUN shooter and now days it was a deal back then for $1500 bucks! No I don't reload for it and bought a good stash of ammo for it over the years.
The Pepperbox is fun to shoot and seems to function well using the mod to use small pistol primers since caps are still hard to find.
