Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
46 and sunny this morning. That’s the warmest overnight low so far this year. Thumbs up!
Today I’ll mow the lawn and wash the boat from yesterday’s outing. No fish to report, had one strike shortly after dropping my line but was still busy getting the boat set up and missed it. No other strikes. We did discover the trolling motor on the boat will not go fast enough for the fish we are seeking. Even downwind and down current the best I could do was 2.0 mph. For trout 2.2 - 2.4 is better. And once the wind died down the best I could get was 1.8. And the fact the wind was going in the same direction was an exception, normally the wind blows one direction and the current goes the opposite.
Still had a fun day on the water and gave the dogs a good romp on the beach. As you can see in the pics the water is way down. It will be full pool by the 4th of July.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Good morning, 64 and cloudy headed towards 75.
How about a little joke to start the weekend?
20 years as a successful gynecologist, a doctor grew tired of dealing with malpractice insurance and endless HMO paperwork. Even though medicine was all he had ever known, he decided it was time for a career change.
Since he had always been good with his hands, he thought becoming a mechanic might be a great fit. He enrolled in evening classes at a local technical college, attended diligently, and absorbed everything he could about automotive repair.
When the practical exam arrived, he carefully prepared, executing each step with precision. Weeks later, he received his results—and was shocked to see a score of 150%! Thinking there must be a mistake, he called his instructor.
“I don’t mean to sound ungrateful,” he said, “but I just wanted to check if there was an error in my grade.”
The instructor chuckled. “Not at all! You disassembled the engine flawlessly—that earned you 50%. Then, you reassembled it perfectly—another 50%.”
After a brief pause, the instructor added, “And I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler… something I’ve never seen done in my entire career!”

43 and sunny with a prediction of the 70’s later. More of the same until Tuesday when some light showers may arrive. Today I have a date with 2,593 pine cones that have fallen. Yes, I counted them.
I’ll pick them up and haul them in a little dump trailer behind the atv and dump them into a hole down at the bottom of my place. I used to burn them with limbs but that’s a pain in the butt. ]

Our two grand children, 4&6, think it's fun to pick up the pin cones. They go around their property with their pincher pickup tools and a radio flyer wagon and take them to a burn pile.

Well, I think we're both well enough for church this morning.
I used the back pack leaf blower yesterday and I think I can now put
them away for the Spring and Summer. Now it's raining and the grass is
greening up.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
38F, windy, supposed to clear off in a couple of hours. Maybe sun and 55.
Coffee in a Boy Scout mug.
I'd mow the lawn, but it's too wet.
Just hanging out with our new dog. He isn't minding the hardwoods or tile so much. He was up and down the stairs several times yesterday. He's getting more comfortable here.
I hope you have a great day.

I use the same process, my Nifty-Nabber pick up tool loading the bucket which then loads my adult version of the radio flyer.
41 this morning with sunny skies. Maybe some light showers on Tuesday otherwise just more of this nice spring weather. Today I’ll finish up the pine cone project (got interrupted yesterday) and just enjoy this weather.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
39' and cloudy. Maybe 62' later. Got most of the mowable part of the property mowed. Only got stuck twice in separate spring seeps. Getting stuck, I start thinking I need to finish the french drain project I started some 30+ years ago. Got tired of working on it. Called it almost good enough.

Overcast, 57°F, Humidity 82%
Wind Speed S 10 G 17 mph
Barometer 29.76 in
Dewpoint 52°F
Visibility 10.00 mi
High near 75.
Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3pm. Some of the storms could be severe.
Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
The weather guessers are predicting doom and gloom today. They're warning that some of the T-Storms

They also say if we get through today the rest of the week will be golden.

41 with a filtered sun today and a high in the upper 60’s expected. Rain tomorrow hopefully, saw on the news over a week ago that we have had less than 2” of rain year to date and the average is over 5”. I noticed in the areas I don’t water it’s very dry and dusty. We’ve already had several smaller wildfires this year probably from idiots burning incorrectly. Could be a bad fire year AGAIN!
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
46' and cloudy. Maybe mid 60's later. Might be some rain overnight.
April sure went by fast. It's also been an unusually dry month.

Proud Gpa bragging is encouraged. Keep the reports coming. For this Gpa our grandson is graduating High School this year and then going on to USC.
48 with a good steady rain falling. We need it badly. I’ve been waiting for rain to do some mowing of my non-lawn areas so today is the day. I use a different mower as there is lots of junk to hit with the blades. So with this prediction of rain yesterday I got that mower serviced and ready to go.
After today’s rain we’re looking at sunny and warm until Saturday when we may see some thunderstorms. Friday there is a suggestion of our first day in the 80’s. Hello May!
