Which Skinner for the brass rimfire? Do you all like the dovetail mount or the receiver mount?

For me it would be a receiver mount preference. You are aware Henry rimfire receivers aren't drilled and tapped from the factory?
They are drilled and tapped on the barrel under the rear sight.

I love dovetail barrel mounted Skinner peeps and use them on a lot of guns, but I use them on those guns because there is no option to mount a peep or even a scope on the receiver. The dovetail barrel mounted peep lets me have a peep on a gun that was never made to have a peep.

The closer a peep sight is to your eye, though, the more effective it becomes as far as sharpening the front sight/target picture. I always go with a receiver mounted peep when possible and Skinner makes some fine receiver peeps.

I have the Skinner dovetail on my H001. It's so much easier to put on target than the semi-buckhorn it replaced. It was given to me by a fellow forum member who sold the rifle he had.

I am, yes, at least most of the time, because I've yet to install a dovetail barrel peep that needed a different front sight due to the front sight not being the correct height. Talking about two dozen different rifles, here. There may be a rare exception out there, but I haven't encountered it, yet.

I do prefer blade front sights for accuracy over bead front sights, though, so I sometimes also change out the front sight to a blade front.

No. I put the H001 Hi-Viz front sight on mine pretty shortly after I bought the rifle and liked it. Later, PT7 sent me the Skinner sight when he sold his rifles. I already had a Skinner on my 357 Big Boy that I liked, so I swapped out the semi-buckhorn on the 22 and took it to the range. Glad I did. I don't recall what the aperture size is, but the green dot on that Hi-Viz sight sits perfectly in the center of the Skinner barrel peep with just the right amount of daylight surrounding it. Nice.

I put a Skinner dovetail peep sight on my Golden Boy and the factory front sight still worked well (my Gloden Boy did not have a tapped receiver). BUT - on every Henry rifle I have that I put on a receiver mounted peep sight, I also had to change the front sight.
