Congratulations on your new model 10-8 Bill. I hope that yours shoots as nice as you say it looks. Finding a nearly new -8 model is very nice for you. That new tooling should make it a very accurate shooter.

I've always loved revolvers. When I first got out of the academy, we were issued the Model 64, and I shot mine well. I never felt undergunned. When the newer Officers coming in started pushing for the change to Autos and the Chief began to consider it, I set up the Test and Evaluation as I was asked to as the Firearms Instructor... but I was happy with what we had. The younger officers had trouble qualifying with the revolver and thought, "If we only had autos." But, you guessed it, if you don't practice with the semi-autos, you don't do much better with those either.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Yes, I really like revolvers - have 11 of them. Have only 2 semi-autos. I do hand load and I hate chasing brass.

I'm all in on revolvers, too. Our late forum friend, PT7, spoke of them as Wheel Guns.

My modest collection of revolvers started with the inheritance of a Colt Official Police .38 Spl made in 1956. Since then, I've added two Uberti made SAAs (.22 & .357) and a Colt King Cobra 2".

Semi-autos seems to make sense for law enforcement and military. For home defense, a revolver seems to do. If your life is on the line, any firearm will probably do. Yet, I am partial to revolver. ☺️

A most excellent observation. I fully agree

Have sold or traded all my semi autos in the last year, and I am very happy with my wheelguns. Revolvers work just fine for me, and I don’t feel undergunned by not having 16 rounds to spray and pray.

Yes and you don't have to dig through the dirt to find your empty brass so you can reload it.
