sweater needed in the morning and again around sundown .... shorts and sandals between late morning and early evening .... today's high was 57, it dropped to 54 just before 8PM .... no rain but most certainly a cool breeze .... during a short drive to town this morning we noticed some new neighbors out in their yard .... stopped and chatted a sort while .... we used to know (recognize) most everyone in our neighborhood but those days appear to be gone .... not much else going on

Gene, your vacation with the four ladies reminded me of this commercial currently running on TV. Good for you!

Here in the PNW it’s 33 with a light frost but beautiful blue skies and a rising sun. Nice today, rain tomorrow and then three days in the 60’s. Glorious.

After a morning run to Walmart in north Spokane I’ll spend the rest of the day outside doing chores and enjoying the sunshine. Then this evening Gonzaga men’s basketball team plays Houston who is the #1 seed. The Houston coach used to coach nearby in Pullman Wa at WSU. Fun match up but it’s going to be a tough game. Go Zags

busy beautiful but chilly morning .... the widow of my best friend was in a serious car wreck a few weeks ago .... she was a passenger in her own car that was being driven by another friend .... bottom line 3 vehicles involved, all totaled, 2 young men who were both in the same car were killed .... the person driving our friend was at fault.... our friend suffered multiple broken bones along with other injuries .... she has no memory of the wreck .... after accessing her the emergency room doctor issued orders that she not be told of the deaths and cannot be interviewed by authorities until she has been stabilized .... since then she has undergone a couple of surgeries and had a major psychotic reaction to one medication .... our daughter is her executor and our oldest son who is a doctor has her medical power or attorney .... compilations everyone in the wreck is a civilian, the trauma center where she was taken is the major military hospital on Ft Bragg .... because of the deaths the investigation by the NC Highway Patrol is at a standstill because they can' interview our friend .... the fact that the military hospital will not recognize her civilian insurance is creating significant complications .... this morning we drove to the town where her car was towed and picked up the tag along with other personal items .... my wife and daughter have just left to go back down there to get the car key fob for the Highway Patrol .... as stated, its a mess ....

Harper's Ferry, WV.
32°F
Increasing clouds, with a high near 55.
Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm.
We're in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia this AM and it
froze last night. Not a hard freeze, but there is ice on the
street. Dinner with Carol's sister tonight. I look out the
window and see the Blue Ridge all around me.

I lived in this area for many years and assassinated many Deer,
Turkey, and Wood Chucks in this area. I loved it here but
being a single Father I moved my children back to Minnesota
so they'd have family around them. I still miss living here.

38, dark and rainy. Rain on and off all day than getting sunny and warm starting tomorrow.

Speaking of NCAA basketball Gonzaga was defeated by Houston last night. Zags were down between 8 and 15 for most of the game but clawed back to within 1 near the end of the game. Houston made two free throws to go up by 3, Gonzaga had enough time to run a play for the tie but unfortunately the player set up for the shot fumbled the ball just enough to not get the shot off. It’s been a non-typical year for Gonzaga with many more loses than normal.

The one grandson and I have been out and about on the farm again this AM. Had to get some outdoor stuff done before the storms move in here shortly. Him playing in the drainage ditch from a pond. Found a couple little perch trapped in there, so he rescued them and brought back to grandma's pond. ;)

Well, I woke up again. 47 here and low 70s later.
A quick glance at the weather report shows some nice Springtime weather for this week.
Mid to upper 70s and may reach 80 one day around mid week.
Off to werk I go.

Harper's Ferry, WV
48°F
Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 64.
South wind 8 to 17 mph becoming west in the afternoon.
Winds could gust as high as 26 mph.
A chance of showers before 11am.
Chance of precipitation is 50%.
We met Carol's sister for Indian food yesterday afternoon in Frederick, Md.
My first time with Indian food and I was not impressed. Just give me good old
BBQ.
