ThermoPro TP420 2-in-1 Instant Read Thermometer

Post by JEBar » Tue Mar 11, 2025 3:04 pm

YouTube videos can cost you money .. ;) .. while researching our recent purchase of a Blackstone E-22 Griddle it quickly became clear that thermometers to read the internal temp of the items being cooked and the actual temp of the griddle surface were very high on the important accessories list .... many types are available and they come at a wide range of cost .... in watching untold numbers of YouTube videos a single hand held unit capable of preforming both measurements appeared to be the thermometer of choice of many folks doing griddling videos .... that being the ThermoPro TP420 2-in-1 Instant Read Thermometer ===> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Q8MPNWG?re ... title&th=1 ... it has earned and "Amazon's Choice designation with a 4.5 out of 5.0 customer rating based on 814 reviews ... it seems to be solidly made and simple to use .... I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces

I've seen these, and they look pretty neat.
I like my steaks med-rare, but my GF doesn't want any pink left in hers. I can cook mine on the grill to perfection, but I always end up having to put hers back on the grill. Same with our burgers.
Something that could read temp quickly, and be used on multiple items on the grill, would sure make things easier.

understood on trying to accommodate different preferences in how well something is cooked .... I already have an infrared thermometer that tells the temp of whatever you point it at .... Maureen has a meat probe thermometer for telling just how well done a food item is .... both do fine .... the thing I like about the one in the link is it does both .... the fewer items I have to move when grilling or griddling the better .... I'm looking forward to giving the new one a workout this weekend

It's pretty common for a grill to have "hot spots" where things cook a little faster, or occasionally char. I know that spot well on my little Weber Q, with it's single burner. That's where her steak goes. But I find that I need to shift my steak to a side location to keep it cooking parallel to her preference for medium-well. A two burner grill would be nice, but this little Weber does everything I want from a grill. I'm completely in agreement about moving things as little as possible, and I'm getting a good knack for having her steaks be acceptable for her, without mine being overcooked in the process.
