I havent seen one yet but the price is attractive. Id buy one in 9mm if I can find one to look at and it functions well.

Didn't see a price.
The first thing I did notice is the break action lever.
I can see that as being problematic, at some point.

...
A quick online search shows between $260 and $480 depending on caliber and finish.

Interesting that the checkering pattern somewhat resembles Henry’s pattern. I’ve always appreciated Henry’s checkering.

FYI, if you're looking for a new single shot, the Thompson Center Encore is now back, but it is in a much different price category, of course. TC recently moved back to the original Rochester plant and has begun to ship some Encore frames to dealers. Wilson Combat is even making some Encore barrels, now. The great advantage of going TC is the interchangeable barrel platform and if TC doesn't make a barrel, you can always go custom.

I have enough Encore frames from the original TC to last me for the rest of my shooting days, but I can always use more barrels. If TC starts offering more new barrels, it will take some of the pressure off the used barrel market.

As for the original Contender (which I collect), not likely to see it again from TC, but good chance the G2 will be made, again.

By the way, Al, back in the early Contender days, TC did offer a 9mm barrel handgun barrel for the Contender, but in those days, there was little interest in the 9mm, so production numbers for the 9mm barrel were very low. Of course now that 9mn is so cheap to shoot, when Contender barrels in 9mm show up for sale, they go for a premium. I do have one, however.

Yes I was aware of the TC start up and the 9mm barrels offered back in the day. I looked for one a while back but couldnt locate one when I still owned a contender. Currently the Encores sell for more than I would spend for a 9 mm single shot. Maybe Henry will expand their line of single shots in the future.

I do understand. The only way you could get a 9mm barrel for a TC now would be yo go custom barrel and that would be crazy expensive just to shoot 9mm, all the more so in the Encore. 9mm in an Encore just wouldn't make much sense.

RP
  Actually would buy another one to live up to my handle but don't know what caliber it would be. Henry stubbornly refuses to make the .41 magnum I have requested. Already have a .45 Colt BBS but if they chambered that in the single it might be an option. As AL52 said a .38/55 would be interesting. Maybe the .360 Buckhammer? Already have a mess of .358" bullet molds but if I am going to download the Buckhammer with cast bullets it would simply be duplicating the two .357 Singles I own now. :?: :?:

Quite a few have suggested the 38-55, but it falls on deaf ears.
I would entertain the idea if they were to, I love the Marlin Cowboy I have in the caliber.
It's definitely one I wish I had of discovered a long time before I did.
I've looked at a couple of the H&R 1871's on GB, and have come close, but have yet to snag one.
They are quite nice looking rifles.

I may have to hunt down another H015 now. At a gunshow today when I happened to spot this stock set. I don't know the circumstances of how he got them but he had them marked at $75 so I told him I'd think it over. As I started to walk away I distinctly heard something about $50..... :D

Price wasn't really the cause of my hesitation. I try not to use the word NEED but none of my Henry singles needs a stock.

None of my Contenders need another carbine stock, but I've managed to collect some extra stocks "just in case". Never know when I might find another frame to go with them.
