our plan is to do Hawaiian Burgers on ours tonight .... this will be our first for beef burgers .... I've take a look at bunches of YouTube videos on smash burgers and I'm sure sooner or later will give them a try .... that said, classic thick burgers are my favorite .... for the burgers we are going to fix tonight, we will take the juice from a can of pineapple slices and blend it in with 93/7 ground beef .... we will caramelize a few slices of the pineapple to put on the burgers .... its a pretty simple process that is a longstanding family favorite
A little unplanned upgrade this morning. Site is working ok it seems.

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
tonight we had our first attempt at chicken wings with mushrooms as a side dish .... not bad at all .... while they looked crunchy, next time we'll up the grilling temp to increase the crunch

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
10 DAY IMPRESSIONS :
POSITIVE :
cleaning after use is simple and easy .... the cooking surface is easy to remove for cleaning .... its (literally) requires little more than wiping with a damp rag/paper towel followed by wiping it dry .... no scraping
it can drastically reduce the number pots and/or pans needed to prepare a meal
being electric (like our other grills and smokers) no propane required
for me, its fun to use
NEGATIVE :
its size requires considerable counter space when used inside .... storage when not in use needs to be planned for .... this same issue needs to be planned for when used while traveling/camping ....
as with other cooking appliances there is definitely a learning curve in using it .... YouTube videos are plentiful and as with it on other subjects, they may or may not be helpful helpful
for only a couple of folks there are much simpler forms of cooking

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
I may get one for the house as a dedicated pancake griddle. I have enough cast iron skillets for other items.

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
one of our motivations for purchasing a griddle is to cook sausage that we purchase locally and can't find anywhere else .... after being cooked we vacuum seal and freeze the links/patties that we will use at home; as well as, to take with us when we are on the road

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
we purchase sausage (bulk and link) from a local abattoir (AKA : slaughterhouse) .... we buy both in (roughly) one pound packages .... we freeze it and later take out three or so packs at a time and process/cook them .... today we cooked and repackaged three of each .... I prefer the link sausage to hotdogs so we cut ours to roughly 6" lengths .... the bulk is formed into quarter pound patties .... having them frozen and ready to heat saves Maureen time at breakfast .... as can be seen our E-Series Blackstone Griddle really works well .... with it, we can quickly and easily handle the sausage .... couldn't resist throwing in three thick pork chops that will be reheated for tonight's meal

Great, I haven’t had breakfast yet and now I’m putting down the iPad and doing something about that. Dang that sausage looks great as does those pork chops.

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
one of the points I raised earlier about our E-22 griddle is its size .... our first club camping trip of 2025 is scheduled for this coming weekend .... we want to take our griddle with us to help cook breakfast Saturday morning .... our camper has been in storage mode since Christmas which means many things we've needed to us have been moved/removed and not put back ..... it is also packed with winter camping gear that needs to be stored or removed to make room for summer gear .... the griddle is now in the camper's basement, Maureen says I need to hang a FULL sign on its door ..

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
just learned that Blackstone has added a Blackstone Collapsible Basting Dome to its line of accessories of our E-22 electric griddle ===> https://blackstoneproducts.com/products ... 9a38&_ss=r <=== their price is cheaper than Amazon but when you add in their $9.99 shipping charge its price for Amazon Prime is about the same but has much faster shipping .... one thing I really like about Blackstone's Basting Dome is that they have made it collapsible .... this feature really helps reduce the storage space necessary which is really nice for packing in our camper .... yes, I do have one on the way

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
as noted in other post, no metal grilling tools or accessories may be used on the ceramic coated titanium cooking surface of our E-22 Blackstone Griddle .... I have two metal presses that I use with our regular smokers and grills .... yesterday I learned that Blackstone has recently marketed silicone coated presses that have folding handles ===> https://blackstoneproducts.com/products ... e-press-1 <=== after a bit of searching I found the cheapest place to purchase to purchase them is from Walmart and that they are in stock at our local store .... this afternoon when my youngest son needed a couple of boat batteries and asked me if I was interested in ridding with him to Walmart, I most certainly was .... they are shown below .... first picture label removed from one and the handles are folded open ..... second picture has the handles opened on the one on the left .... the last two show one in hand .... first impressions are very favorable .... solidly made .... locking mechanism of the folding handles solidly locks them open and closed .... looking forward to giving them a workout

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
its been an active morning for our Electric Blackstone Griddle .... we used it to cook several pounds of both bulk and link sausage the bulk was shaped into patties will be individually frozen for breakfast use over the next couple of weeks or so .... the link has been cut into 6" sections that will be frozen and used by me for a substitute for hotdogs

give them a workout I have and I'm pleased to have learned that they work well .... with a cooking surface the size of ours, it has become evident that we need a third one .... do hope to pickup one the next time I'm in WalmartJEBar wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 11:19 pmyesterday I learned that Blackstone has recently marketed silicone coated presses that have folding handles ===> https://blackstoneproducts.com/products ... e-press-1
