Post by JEBar » Tue Feb 04, 2025 3:43 pm

we just completed and efiled our 2024 Taxes .... ours are not complicated but I'm always relieved when its over .... I didn't notice any difference in the forms we completed .... last year we didn't file until the 16th and we got our refund on the 24th .... can't help but wonder if things will go as quickly this year we just completed and efiled our 2024 Taxes .... ours are not complicated but I'm always relieved when its over .... I see my tax man on Thursday. This will be my third year in Wisconsin and I’m getting more familiar with state taxes.
Hi, my name is Gene and I'm a Henryholic from Wisconsin.

My very simple E-file was accepted by the IRS Mon, Jan 27. Refund was deposited to my savings account today, Tuesday Feb 4. That's the fastest I can remember.

Funny you post this yesterday as I organized all our tax papers. I’m only the SSA 1099’s away from filing. I may go online and print them and just be done. Pretty simple for me here in Washington state without any state taxes. (At least on income, plenty of other taxes  )

I'm a TurboTax guy, been using that for decades. I did have an accountant do them for me for a couple years, and she found some ways to save me some money with some things, but it really wasn't even a couple hundred worth of difference, and even less when you figure in her fee. I really don't make enough to take advantage of some of the ways you can make things work in your favor.
But it seems like I've now received all the paperwork to get the taxes done for 2024, just need to get this year's version of TurboTax and do it.

E-filed my Federal Tax return today using H&R Block software. It was accepted by the IRS within 4 minutes. I'll mail my state return on Monday. I'm expecting a direct deposit refund from both.

Question for those of you receiving Social Security. Have you received MAILED 1099’s yet? I know I can log on and print them out but according to the SSA website they were supposed to be mailed no later than 01/31. If so, should be here by now. Government!

Hatch, each day that I have mail to be delivered, the post office sends me an email with a photo of the first class mail pieces. I received my SS 1099 in the mail on January 17th.
