Happy groundhog’s day all. Oh wait, was it yesterday or maybe it’s tomorrow or maybe last week???????? It’s all just too confusing.

30 here this morning with nothing forecast to happen other than some sun and clouds. Had a nice day yesterday and went for a couple of hikes, one with the dogs and one without. Got the garage straightened up too. Amazing what a little sunshine will do for motivation. :D

Well that damn rat might just be right for this area. Forecast is for several nights of single digits this week. Git yer shotgun pa, there’s a rat out there.

My dogless hike was to check out a couple of houses being built on parcels behind mine. This first one is just the shop with the house being located in a different spot. I hear this “shop” will be 7500 sf. The neighbor who told me this said it’s more like a warehouse than a shop. Hope not as our CC&R’s clearly state no businesses are allowed in the community.

The second house is being constructed with styrofoam blocks filled with concrete. This construction style is getting popular around here but this is the first one I’ve seen up close.

15 F and the wind is howling outside. Partly sunny
Coffee in the Farmall mug.

As it is Sunday, George Winston is on. I have always found his music calming and peaceful, Mary, finds it just the opposite.

A little house cleaning today, perhaps snowshoeing later.

I hope your day goes very well.

P.S. That "shop" doesn't look very non business like Hatch. I hope it is just someone with lots of tools to store.

31' high clouds with sun trying to burn through. Supposed to have rain/snow mix overnight.

Here’s a pic from the front. The big door on the right looks to be an RV garage for a big class A. Then on the left is a double car garage with an enclosed breezeway connecting it to the big building. Not really sure why the breezeway but it sure is an interesting building. Funny it has a covered patio in the rear like a home would. Maybe the owners plan to live in this building while building the home. The home has not been started other than clearing and leveling the land and a rough circular driveway.

Oops, I guess I didn’t take a pic of the front but my description is what it is. Here’s a couple more shots of the rear. First one shows the RV garage.
Second shows the breezeway and the double car garage.

Cloudy today with a high of 16: overnight low was 0; currently it is 8 and feels like -6. Had a scattering of light snow. I guess we’re back to February weather. Everyone have a great day.

26 right now with a high of 30 later. Overcast skies that delivered about an inch of snow overnight. Starting tonight our cold spell begins with overnight temps in the single digits and below zero with the wind chill. Brrrr Looks to be a good week to stay indoors and keep the fire stoked. :D

Not much for today other than a 10:00 appt with the insurance agent in Deer Park. We’re switching insurance companies for a $200 per month savings. Been with the old company for decades. Crazy times we live in.

I just got off the tractor after an hour of plowing snow. It’s taken me a couple years but I’m now getting good at it. I don’t have to call anyone now.

23 now with about a half inch of new snow overnight. High of 30 expected. Thankfully the cloud cover is going to keep the single digits at bay but we should see lows in the teens for the rest of the week.

Nothing planned again today. I was thinking about loading some 9mm but after taking an inventory of my stock my time would be better spent shooting.

Winter in the form of snow has arrived. Before we had cold as in -32F but very little snow. We still don’t have a lot but it does look more like winter.
