Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
The warming trend has begun. 19 this morning with a cloud cover arriving this afternoon leading to a winter storm watch for my area. Forecast is for 3-8” of snow by Saturday but I expect to be on the low end of that range. Sure hope so. Could be a nasty commute tomorrow morning so I’ll be sure to watch it on the news.
Today we’re making a trip to Idaho as I have an appointment to have my photo taken for the renewal of my Idaho Enhanced carry permit. This permit allows me to conceal carry in many more states than my Washington State permit does. Also planning a stop into Cabelas just across the state line for some Berrys plated bullets in 38 cal. Their website shows limited quantity on hand so I expect them to be out.

Sunny again this morning, low of 25 and a high of 47; currently it’s 27. Think I’ll work on adding to my train town today. Everyone have a great day!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
57 at 11AM on its way to 62 later this afternoon prior to dropping back to a low of 44 tonight .... it sure is nice to not see any more subfreezing temps called for between now and the middle of next month .... no wind with a cloudless Carolina Blue Sky .... Maureen continues to improve .... given minimal assistance she can now handle the steps to get in and out of the house; as well as, to get into and out of the passenger front seat of her Blazer .... nothing indicates a need for me to get out of the house today but that can change quickly
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
27' and cloudy. Return of rain expected by 10pm. It's been a very dry January here.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Us too Mags. Woke up to snow falling with about an inch on the ground. Thankfully it has already turned to rain much earlier than originally forecast. The weather guy told us that the overnight temp didn’t drop as low as expected. Yea! It’s looking good that my goal of not mounting the blade on the snowplow this year will continue for now anyways…..hehehehehe
Nothing planned for the day so I may start my 38 special reloading project. Picked up a 250 pack of Berrys plated bullets yesterday so I’m ready to go.

Don't get cocky! That snow blade might be coming out.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 10:29 amUs too Mags. Woke up to snow falling with about an inch on the ground. Similar happened here with overnight temps. Was supposed to get down to 31', but got no lower than 45' with some very light rain. Just enough to make it damp. By tomorrow night we are supposed to see low elevation snow, some rain snow mix and then snow at least through Thursday with night time temps in the 20's. Cascades are supposed to get several feet of new snow.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
how nice to have a day expecting "Very warm with times of clouds and sun; breezy this afternoon" .... 72 at 4PM with the high expected to rise one more degree before dropping back to 49 tonight .... NO SUBFREEZING NIGHT TEMPS IN THE FORECAST THROUGH FEB 9TH .... Maureen's physical therapy gave her a good workout .... she'll be resting for a good while .... her pup most certainly knows something ain't right .... accordingly, she won't let Maureen out of her sight
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
After a cool start to summer down under January warmed up like always with the average temp being 92.
Looks like it will continue into February with the next 7 days all predicted to be 95 or above.
Fairly typical Australian summer, hot and dry in the south a bit cooler and very wet in the north. Son has had over 2 feet of rain since the start of December with well over another foot predicted for this week.

Good morning, and welcome to Feb. It was a nice day yesterday for the last one of the month, no complaints.
Almost as nice of one due for today, with a high around 68.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
36 this morning, how about that! More than 20 degrees warmer than most days for the last week plus. The local news hasn’t been broadcast yet but I expect today to be mild and pretty quiet. Maybe a sun break or two as well as a sprinkle or two. Yesterday’s big snow storm petered out. I had about an inch which then was covered with rain and freezing rain. I shoveled off the concrete areas which then turned into a skating rink and I don’t mean roller skates.
According to the online news I read this morning we had a warm layer above the cold surface layer that wasn’t expected when the “snow Armageddon” was forecast.
Pretty typical for the Spokane area, dire predictions that don’t happen.
Now that it’s finally warmed up I am out of excuses to go out and straighten up the garage. So I have assigned myself that task today.

Barometer rising, clear and sunny for a change. Going to cut more mortises on the new wood working bench legs. Ordered a hand water pump that I am going to install inline with my existing plumbing. Pump will be in the basement and will allow me to use the bladder tank for sink and toilet when power goes out without having to use the generator. May get larger bladder tank for shower.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Cloudy today with a high of 47 and a low of 23: currently 30. Temperatures have been above normal but forecast suggests snow and colder temperatures as week goes by. Going to watch granddaughter play volleyball and then do a little vehicle shopping. Everyone have a great day and weekend!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
another beautiful day in our neighborhood .... 59 at 11AM on its way to a predicted high of 64 before falling back to an overnight low of 34 .... no chance of precipitation .... 5 to 8 mph wind .... we've apparently picked up some type of stomach bug, sure hope its a short lived one .... no plans to leave the house today
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Son was out door knocking with volunteer fire service yesterday as evacuation orders were given, in the 24hrs until 9am Saturday morning they had 11.5". Forecast was for similar falls through Saturday/Sunday with 24hr totals up to 24" and 6hr falls of 12"
I have experienced a foot of rain in 24hrs I cant even comprehend that amount of rain in 6hrs.
