I have an AR in 300 BO, a factory Ruger that is pretty lightweight. I was surprised with the felt recoil to the point I bought a slip on Limbsaver thin pad for it. I only shoot supersonic using the Speer 125 gr TNT at max load. As Big Al mentioned, it really likes max velocity to be accurate, at least in my rifle.

I got miy 300BO in and it does take the 63b base or the 2 piece bases that are the same as for the Marlin lever action rifles.
The gun shoots good and so far I have shot Hornady 110gr Vmax and 125gr Nosler out to 100yds. I have some Barnes 110gr Blacktip that I will try in the future along with the Hornady 110gr SP. I may try some 100gr Plinker bullets along with some subsonic loads in the future.
It's a fun gun to shoot and shooting 1-1.5" groups due to my abilities, but I know it is capable of better groups. I haven't tweaked any loads yet.
