Dusted off the lee loader (wackatool) loaded up the 38 special brass the kids blasted tin cans with over the holidays.

Scored at the LGS today.
2500 rounds of 148grn hbwc, the price was dirt cheap, I'm determined to get these things to work in my rifles.
I also picked up a new workbench off FB Market Place. I plan to put a couple pieces of 5/8ths on it for added rigidity.

Those are some great bullets. I loved those when I was shooting revolver competition. Too bad Star is long since out of business. Anyway I had a thread about 3-4 years ago where I experimented with those for my 357 mag Big Boy Steel. I loaded them about 0.25” out of the case. They fed and fired just great.

Paul, do you know what powder and load you used? I'm not giving up on having a decent wadcutter load.

What velocity are you getting out of that? IIRC i was getting like 670fps with sub 6 grains of tight group. It was like a 18 inch drop at 70 yds.
Ah, I looked it up in my logs, I was using jacketed bullets with that speed.

Yesterday I finished up loading 300 357 using the Hornady 158 XTP and Win 296. (Pretty standard fodder) I’ve worked on this project on and off for several days. Now I’m ready to feed the 686 and the Henry Big Boy come spring. I’m low on 38 specials which is my low velocity load using Berrys plated bullets. I’m out of the bullets so when I pick some up that will be my next project.

I snagged a Rock Chucker IV, RCBS auto prime, Lyman 4500 lubrasizer, Starrett798a-6/150, and a couple thousand once-fired 10mm cases.

I spent time today setting up my friend's RCBS loading press in my room for him to load ammo for his 223. I have my loader on one side of my room where my bench is 12' long. I have his press on the 8' bench on the other side of the room and both are mounted on boards that can be taken off the counter tops in seconds with the C-clamps attachment. My vise is mounted on a board also to be easily removed. When I picked up his loading press after getting it bolted to the board with the screws counter sunk from the bottom the handle dropped and the ram smashed two of my fingers at the full stroke. Felt like they were cut off it hurt so bad. That slowed the rest of my day down to almost doing nothing. I hope to finish it up tomorrow after church or Monday morning.

Nice of you to help out your buddy.
Sorry you hurt your hand though. Hope it clears up quickly.
They say reloading can be dangerous. I guess they were right!
