Got to the mid west and made a wrong turn and ended up at Sir Henry’s place. Damn GPS!

30 this morning with some glimpses of some blue sky. It’s supposed to be sunny today if the fog stays away. Clear and cold all week which will be a nice change from the dreary days of winter we have “enjoyed” this season.

Typical patchy summer storms for us in Aus. I was at the farm yesterday afternoon doing a bit of work on the hunting/fishing hut we are building, Lots of rumbling and a few spots of rain so decided to pack up and call it a day. Was just starting to drive back towards the main house less than 3/4 mile away when I got a phone call from mum asking if I was still about. It was bucketing down at the house and they had already had 1/4" while it hadnt even wet the ground where I was, Ended up with almost 1.5 inches in about 15min. On the trip home the road was bone dry less than 5 miles away.

Sir Henry, I’d hit the like button for the view of your place but not for the pending temps.

Woke up to 27 and here three hours later it’s up to 28. High not expected to be above freezing today. Took the dogs on our morning hike and with the light fog it was on the cold side. Yesterday we had sun all day and man that sure was nice.

Nothing planned for today other than filling the wood rack on the patio. With the weeks pending temps of lows in the teens I’ll be burning a lot of wood.

Can have a similar experience here in the Spring and Summer. A rogue cloud or few can come through the area and spot rain here and there heavily. Sometimes we can stand in the sun a few feet away from the deluge and see the wet/dry line on the pavement. Amazing to see it happen that precise.

Decades ago, I witnessed that, too. Steady rain falling just a few feet away from me standing on dry ground. I'm pretty sure I laughed out loud. It was memorable.

We finally received enough snow to cover everything but not enough to need snowshoes. The temperature then dropped and it’s -6F. I’m up early to drive to town for an oil change. When I get back I’ll need to plow my driveway. Again.

It's 32 here this AM, one of the warmest morning's all year.
Not going to be as warm as yesterday as far as the highs goes, but 39 should help in removing the leftover snow.
Upper 40's yesterday did away with the biggest part.

The SIL is coming tomorrow from SC, his grandfather passed the other morning.

Heading to the doctor this morning for A1C tests. I’ve been a very bad boy this holiday season and I expect a not very good reading. Shame on me.

Heading to the doctor this morning for A1C tests. I’ve been a very bad boy this holiday season and I expect a not very good reading. Shame on me.

Are A1C blood sugar related? I was told I was “pre diabetic” 5 years ago, and hadn’t had blood work done since then due to “the troubles” and then moving to a rural area where no doctors were available. I finally got a doctor this summer and did my bloodwork last week. I was expecting to be told I had type 2 after 5 years of admittedly not trying to hard to be good, but was shocked my levels were down in the “normal” range.

Fingers crossed you get similar good news!

51 degrees at 2:45PM which is today's predicted high .... they say it will drop down to 25 overnight .... no rain in the forecast for the next 5 days .... pretty much cloudless sky with no wind .... we've already hauled off a load of trash and made a grocery/meds run to Walmart .... as my day's walk, I pushed a cart in Walmart for just over 1,800 steps .... kept seeing things that I needed (OK wanted) which proved to be an expensive trip
