Speed shooting with the Henry .22 revolver

We started our 10 week bowling pin league on Friday nights and I got to try the new Henry. Last Friday I did get a time of 2.78 seconds for 5 pins with the Henry. It would be nice if they made a target model with better sights and drilled and tapped to have the option of adding a dot sight base. For a new out the box revolver I think the DA trigger on the Henry is one of the best I've seen. I think the Henry is going to be a good option to use, it's fun to try other .22's in this addictive sport.

I did modify the front sight because the shiny ramp was hard to see, it works a lot better with a Patridge style sight.

Those are some very nice revolvers. It's nice to hear the Henry is a good shooter too. I haven't seen either the .38/.357 or the .22 in person.

I'm sure each of those revolvers has a good quality unique to them, but do you favor one above all others?

That video of the real pins is incredible. The first pin looks to not be on the ground when the last pin is tipping. Wow . Looks like a great time and yep I can see how it can get addictive.

My S&W's are my fastest shooters, but they have been tuned for speed. A new out the box 617 and GP100 can be pretty stiff, they need to be shot a bunch and maybe reduce the springs. The Colt wasn't too bad but I had problems with them also a few design features I didn't like. Colt replaced it twice and I just ended up getting my money back, too bad because it's a nice looking gun. My GP100 is now smooth but the really long DA trigger pull makes it too slow compared to the 617. The GP is my favorite long range squirrel gun because the massive frame is very stable.

Amazing speed.

I shot falling plates at the Glock matches, but never attained that type of speed.

I shot matches to improve my speed, accuracy and increase my ability to deal with stress, and function in stressful situations. I mainly shot PPC. A great thing to be able to do when you work midnight patrol. Plus, I loved the Comradery among the shooters between strings and before and after the matches.

Very nice revolvers, I'm a revolver guy too.

Here's one of my semi-autos, my Buckmark was my favorite for many years. I used to be good with both but now that I'm older and been shooting revolvers so long, I can't do well with a semi-auto anymore. I think my brain is conditioned for a DA.
