Answer a question and then ask a question

Post by Sir Henry » Thu Dec 01, 2016 8:21 pm

Okay I'm first so I don't have to answer any questions but everyone else does. Remember this is a firearm forum so keep questions to the subject.

Question: what caliber rifle has killed more elephants than any other caliber?

375 H&H, also smallest legal caliber for elephants !
Do you get to ask a question if you're wrong?? :?

My question is; What's the difference in a 30-30 and a 30-06 round ?? :?:

Apparently you do get to ask a question even if you are wrong. More elephants have been taken with a 303 British. Not because they are so powerful but rather because in Africa the Enfields are abundant.

Both are 30 cal but the 30-30 also has 30 grains of powder while the 30-06 came out in 1906?

Good info. I read that the 375 was the most common used.

What was the first Henry Rifle chambered for?
When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a king. The palace becomes a circus.

.30-06 means a 30 caliber first adopted by the Army in 1906. The .30 in both is the cartridge's bullet diameter. The "30" in .30-30 is the original standard load of 30 grains of powder.

What was the "gun that won the west"?

M1 is correct. Back then they didn't even know who John Garand was.
