Why is it so hard to get a Henry?

I wonder why it’s so hard to find a Henry Single shot shotgun. I’ve set aside some money and got $250 for Xmas so want to order a .410 for upland game. When I contacted Henry about ordering one they said they don’t have specific schedule as to when specific guns will be made? I would think that they would have some idea. It doesn’t matter if it’s couple of weeks or months. I’d just like before turkey season so a can pattern it and order additional chokes. I have to order it directly from the company to get the International Hunter Education Association discount. They ship it to an FFL dealer so I’d like to be able to tell the dealer it will be here in a time slot. If I can’t get it I guess I’ll look for a used H&R in that gauge, but haven’t seen any with removable chokes. I just seeing others have had this problem getting guns?

I was not aware one can order a firearm directly from Henry but a quick check of Davidson's Gallery of Guns reveals several single shot shotguns in .410 and a quick check of Palmetto State Armory reveals both single shot .410 shotguns and lever action .410 shotguns are in stock. I didn't check deeper but there are other on line dealers who may have stock.

I do not know about the International Hunter Education Program but unfortunately, that is not an option going thru' one of the on-line vendors.
