from what we have been given to understand, 20 degree overnight temps left several campers with frozen water hoses this morning .... unsure if any serious damage was done .... we left water running and had no freezing issues .... currently 36 on its way to 48 before dropping back to 26 overnight .... with the 12 hours of subfreezing temps tonight, we will fall back and leave the water running once again .... looking forward to watching today's ACC Conference Championship game

We’re under a Winter Storm Advisory today for snow/rain/sleet/freezing rain and freezing fog. So far nothing happening out there other than a cool 28 with frost. If this happens I will feel bad for the working folks that need Saturday for shopping and other running around. Nice to be retired and to be able to stay home when the roads are slick.

Speaking of staying home our schedule is wide open, go figure. Might continue my 357 reloading project.

I am so tired of the gloomy weather this week i started my annual “let’s move to Arizona” searching yesterday. At least a month ahead of schedule.

We had that same warning over here but it didn't amount to much, 39° at 11AM, even had a bit of sunshine. My outside solar floodlight has been very dim lately, too gloomy to keep the battery charged up.
When I was still working I would rather have seen a foot of snow instead of freezing rain. I would have to drive to work when the streets were still very slick (not so bad when the city/county started using liquid de-icer the night before) and then haul around sand/ice melt and toss it by hand onto all the sidewalks instead of just driving around with my snowblower.

I don't think I could handle Arizona Summers, I don't do well in extreme heat. Now if I found a place where the year around temps were in the 70's I'd consider moving there.

I’m with you Dave, give me snow on the roads rather than ice anytime. I too couldn’t live in Arizona in the summer time. I bounced off my wife the idea of selling our place here and buying a home in Arizona. The idea is to live there for 7-8 months when it’s not so hot and them do a reverse snowbird and come back up here in the summer. We have a place up by the border we could park our RV on and live there pretty cheaply for the 4-5 months not in AZ. We would have to drill a well up there and that wouldn’t be cheap. Just pipe dreams really…

32 out there and while we did get the storm yesterday it didn’t amount to much. We had rain, snow and fog but I didn’t see any freezing rain or sleet. Drove into Deer Park late afternoon and the roads were fine. It might be just a little slick right now but I have no plans to venture out.

No plans today other than watching the Patriot Awards on Fox Nation this morning and the Seahawks this afternoon. Last night the #7 Gongaga Bulldogs lost to the #4 Kentucky Wildcats after leading by 16 at halftime. The bulldogs laid big fat eggs all over the court for the entire second half. Game went to overtime and the egg laying continued. I’m still pissed.

64 at 2:19PM where we are camped just off of I-95 near Four Oaks, NC .... this is the first time since we arrived that it has been warm enough to leave the camper's outer entrance door open .... while the weather has been beautiful, its also been cold .... they say it will get down to 39 tonight so we will not have to take water freezing precautions .... not a drop of rain since we arrived last Friday but, in keeping with our luck, rain is supposed to move in overnight .... hopefully they are right in saying it will move out between 9 and 10 morning .... if so, we should be able to pack up and drive home in without getting wet

packing up morning and as predicted, light rain is falling .... they still say a break in the rain should come around 10AM .... we are not in a hurry and do not have to check out till noon .... this last outing of 2024 for our camping club has been a good one .... we are looking forward to to our first for 2025 in the spring .... we do have a couple of bugs to work out in our camper and we have plenty of time to take care of them

29 this morning with a high of 32 expected. Maybe a sun break this afternoon. Can’t hardly remember what the sun looks like as it’ been pretty dreary for the last couple of weeks. So far the prediction of a La Niña winter (more snow and colder temps) has been a bust. This weather is more like a typical February.

Highlight of my day is to get a haircut from my wife. What hair that remains anyway.

I haven't been to a barber for decades, Maureen cuts my hair .... with the passing of time, doing so requires much less time and effort .... grocery shopping plus shuttling grandkids from school back home and on to basketball practice will keep us out and about

30 with a freezing fog making everything slick. I’m driving my wife to the dentist in Spokane this morning and it may be a bit snotty out on the roads. Temps aren’t expected to go up much with this fog/overcast. Yesterday’s suggestion of some sun breaks did not happen. While it’s been a dreary winter so far we have had very little snow and usually in December we’ve had 10” by now. But the mountains are getting snow so that’s hopeful for a good snow pack this season.

We had about four inches on the hill. Five miles away and downhill they only had an inch. Most of it melted and then last night it snowed again.
