The pressed logs are denser than even hardwoods so comparing volume is misleading. If you consider BTU’s the pressed logs are about 30% to 50% more expensive. A cord of pressed logs have up to 30% more BTU’s so a cord might be twice as expensive.

I saw that they are made in Washington when I clicked your link. I did smile at the irony that you are in Wisconsin burning logs from your previous home state. I have used the Northwest Energy Log from north of Sandpoint (Idaho) another one of your previous stomping grounds.

Your shop has come together wonderfully and sure looks cozy with that Fisher stove.

It heats it very well down into the teens with no wind. The wind really saps the heat on the end with the garage doors. For the next three nights it’s going to be in the single digits with a steady 20 mph wind and gusts up to 45. I’m not even going to try to heat it. Not when it will be in the 30’s by Sunday.

The never ending work continues on the garage. I’m still paneling the sides and am a little more than half done if you are counting square feet. Far less if you are counting time because what is left is more difficult. That’s a 12 foot ladder on the left.
