BTW, what kind of wood is that on your rack?
I think the known issues are taken care of. If you have any issues or know of another member who is having issues, PM daytime dave. As we head towards the holidays, hunt with your Henry.

Interesting. I've never seen those before. They sure make for a neat wood pile.

That is true. And they burn great too. The bad part is they are expensive and hard to get around here. I think they are make in Washington. Around here they make rectangular ones and they are cheaper.markiver54 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 4:26 pmInteresting. I've never seen those before. They sure make for a neat wood pile.

How does the price compare to delivered firewood? I don't have a stove or fireplace but I see good firewood can cost $300 a cord.Sir Henry wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 5:13 pmThat is true. Re: Garage and road project
The pressed logs are denser than even hardwoods so comparing volume is misleading. If you consider BTU’s the pressed logs are about 30% to 50% more expensive. A cord of pressed logs have up to 30% more BTU’s so a cord might be twice as expensive.dave77 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 7:37 pmHow does the price compare to delivered firewood? I saw that they are made in Washington when I clicked your link. I did smile at the irony that you are in Wisconsin burning logs from your previous home state. I have used the Northwest Energy Log from north of Sandpoint (Idaho) another one of your previous stomping grounds.Sir Henry wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 5:13 pmThat is true. And they burn great too. Your shop has come together wonderfully and sure looks cozy with that Fisher stove.

It heats it very well down into the teens with no wind. The wind really saps the heat on the end with the garage doors. For the next three nights it’s going to be in the single digits with a steady 20 mph wind and gusts up to 45. I’m not even going to try to heat it. Not when it will be in the 30’s by Sunday.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 10:41 amI saw that they are made in Washington when I clicked your link. Re: Garage and road project
The never ending work continues on the garage. I’m still paneling the sides and am a little more than half done if you are counting square feet. Far less if you are counting time because what is left is more difficult. That’s a 12 foot ladder on the left.
