Happy Thanksgiving Eve .... clear and cool in central NC today .... they say it will get to 63 today but as of 4PM its still a bit short of there .... no rain today but they say that along with damaging winds, it will be here tomorrow .... worked on our Chevy Silverado today .... I'm having trouble keeping a piece of side trim molding glued in place .... worked on it today and if that doesn't work, guess I'll have to take it to a body shop .... we've started the process of Thanksgiving food preparation but as is always the case, we can't get really serious about it until tomorrow morning

Hey Al, been there too. Are you going to Fredericksburg to the Museum of the Southwest Pacific war?
It's really a good one.

Coop Id like to go there but it may not work out this time because of other activities and the Holiday right in the middle. I have been told that by some of my other friends that have been there. I did see it yesterday as we were in Fredericksburg for lunch and a walk by all of the shops. We leave here Sunday for the gulf

Al, it would take a day to see it all. We visit battlefields and museum wherever we go and this is one of the very best.
Admiral Nimitz was raised in the old hotel that makes up the front. His Grandparents owned it at the time.
I highly recommend it.

Oh, and BTW, I highly recommend "Cooper's BBQ" also in Fredericksburg as well. They now have joints in several other cities as well.

Ive had some of that Coopers BBQ in Junction Tx. But right here in Blanco is Old 300 BBQ and In pretty sure its as good or better than Coopers. had some the other day when we hit town. Chicken Express here is exceptional fried chicken to. Best Ive had for a take out place. Im all over some good fried chicken.

Thanksgiving dinner was a grand success. Carol knocked it out of the park.
I ordered a quarter of beef from a local farmer a while back and he will
deliver it today. Good eating for a while is guaranteed. It was a Hereford
Heifer and it was fed out on corn. We've been buying beef from him for
years now.

We did once and were disappointed.
We got the beef this morning.
It worked out to about 175 lbs. for $850.00
or about $5.00 a lb. That's not just for hamburger, but for
steaks, roasts, two briskets, ect.
The thing is it's for choice beef with lots of marbling.
We also got short ribs and Ox tails.

Does the wife have a good laugh at you when you're draggin all that stuff out and setting up for a forum pic? Your pics are great but I know my wife would have a heyday with that.

Gene in your locality there must be a country butcher where you can get in contact
with a local farmer like we have. The next thing is we'll order half a hog from the
butcher and that will suffice us for a good year anyway.
For hog the butcher has several farmers who supply him. His hams and bacon are
much better than we can get at the store.

Most of it is back in the man cave and she never even sees it.
But, she doesn't care, the funny part is now the #2 grandson is mimicking it.

24 before daylight .... 30 at 8:30AM .... forecasted high for today 48, falling back to 24 overnight .... we are scheduled to camp with our club next weekend for our last 2024 outing .... wife and daughter going shopping this afternoon .... I have no plan to step outside unless something I'm not expecting pops up

26 and dark here in the northwest. I’m still waiting for the local weather folks to get out of bed but I suspect they will tell me that it will be overcast today with a high of 40ish. Then more of the same for several days.

Our Thanksgiving company left yesterday and my wife, dogs and me are breathing sighs of relief. So much energy and volume. It’s amazing how loud four people can be. . Do I sound like an old man or what? We had a great visit and Thanksgiving.

well, pop up it did ..!!.. our youngest son showed up with our tractor on its trailer with our decades old Stihl chainsaws and our 16 year old grandson .... they came to clear brush/trees that have been steadily encroaching onto our lot for many years .... first time in way toooooo long since we've spent a day cutting down trees and hauling brush .... also the first time I've had an opportunity to have our 8 year old grandson with me on the tractor .... we now have a large burn pile out in the field, man-o-man its been a while since we had the last one out there .... for me, it was the best Christmas gift I could ask for
