No we didn't. We had some power flickers for a second or two. I think the property behind us lost power. Their lights usually shine a little through the forest, but it became totally dark in that direction last night.

We have a friend who is a small contractor rebuilding our upper deck and yesterday
he put a board through our kitchen window. He was embarrassed and taped it up
and said he'd get it repaired as quickly as he could.

37 and very wet around here. I think it rained all night. I’m sure there’s ponding out there but it’s still dark. Maybe some sun breaks this morning but then another storm coming in for a wet Friday. We’re under one of those atmospheric rivers with lots of moisture coming up from the southwest. Our weather normally comes more out of the west. That bomb cyclone that hit the coast yesterday did a bunch of damage and thousands are still out of power.

Our adult dog has a vet appt this morning and we’re going to leave the pup home alone for the first time. He will be bummed out but it’s good for him.

the rain is gone leaving us with a clear Carolina Blue Sky .... 54 at 11:30AM with a forecasted high of 59 later this afternoon .... they have posted a "Freeze Warning" for early tomorrow morning .... I find that interesting with the low tonight predicted to be 33 .. .. with Black Friday sales prices on Amazon, I've started my Christmas shopping .... hope to have it all wrapped up (pun intended) within a couple of days

40 at 9:30AM .... they say the low last night was 34 which was very close to the forecasted 33 .... high expected later this afternoon to be 51 .... low tonight is predicted to be 41 .... no rain any time soon .... I can't summon much enthusiasm to get over to our local city park for a walk .... Christmas shopping mentioned above going well, looks like UPS will be busy for a couple of days ....

Here it’s 38 as the storm arrived with a warm front. We are in the second bomb cyclone of the week but the second one is much milder than the first. Still we expect rain all day and tomorrow too. It’s been a great catch up week for rain. Next week will be a return to normal with 30’s in the day and mid 20’s overnight. No rain or snow is expected so driving to Grandma’s house over the river and through the woods should go fine.

Errand day for us too. Mrs hatchdog wants to go shopping at a store in the Spokane Valley so I’ll be dropping her off and meeting the guy with the S&W grips at Cabela’s at the state line. Mr hatchdog might do a bit of shopping too.

32 and a foot of snow.
Coffee is late today from all the digging out and taking our grand daughter to nursery school. It's about 20 minutes away. As soon as we crossed a road, the snow turned to rain. Returning home, the rain turned back to snow as we crossed that road. When we got home, the power had gone out. It came on about a minute after I hand lit the gas stove to percolate the coffee.

Tomorrow Deadhorse on the North Slope in Alaska will have 37 minutes of daylight. I’m guessing Sunday might have 10 minutes then the sun won’t rise for about 60 days.

40 and raining. Rained all night I believe and at times hard enough that it woke me due to it pounding on the roof. It’s supposed to stop this morning so maybe I’ll get outside and do something. It’s sure been a wet week but we need it so I’m not complaining. Next week is supposed to be dry and more normal temps with lows in the 20’s and highs in the 30’s to 40.

Have you had much snow yet Mike? We’ve had a couple of inches here twice, but it’s gone away pretty quickly. I’ve been hunting whitetail up high (with my .44 BBSC) and there has been quite a bit of snow above 3,000 ft. It’s warmed up quite a bit the past couple of days though, so rain has been pounding us too.

Kids in Northern California (about 4000ft) got 18 inches of snow during the 'bomb'. Within 24 hrs it was all gone and raining.

I wonder why exactly the media feels the need to make up a “catchphrase” for every weather “event”? Why is a good old storm now an “atmospheric river”, and a heat wave is now a “heat dome” etc etc. Damn weathermen getting delusions of grandeur…

I reckon the weather guessers make them all some kind of catastrophe just to
