Can anybody identify this vehicle? Year? Make? Model?
Neither can I.
Just wanted to post this picture I took last week. Just one of MANY similar outcomes of that terrible storm in our area.

Yes, I'm happy to say that we were able to retrieve my trailer and button up the cottage for the winter. I should have reported this follow-up, but I have been very busy with a lot on my mind. I'm already anticipating next Spring to see how much progress will have been made up there. It's hard to imagine what shape the area will take on. The destruction was Biblical.

That's good news. It must be a relief to you.

My wife has a shack on the side of a mountain in Transylvania County and we travel up U. S. Highway 178 from South Carolina into North Carolina to go there. To describe the destruction as Biblical is not an understatement. There are areas where forest destruction is incredible, I speculate that a tornado(s) must have touched down in places.

Thankfully, her place suffered no damage other than a tree down and that fell away from the house. She was fortunate and because of that, it makes me even more sympathetic for those in western North Carolina who suffered such extensive damage.

That picture sure puts it in perspective for us. Happy you are getting back to normal somewhat.

Back in 1980 when Mt St Helens erupted here in Washington State I made the trip across the state the following year. I got to drive all over and took a ride in a small plane to observe the damage. As you are seeing now it’s really beyond words to describe just how destructive these events are.

I recall seeing photos of the Mt. St. Helen eruption. It looked like a moonscape to me.

Looks like it began life as a Dodge Durango (based on the wheels and wheelbase) as far as I can tell.

my sister still doesn't have potable water at her home in west Asheville .... further, she has been told that they have no idea how long it will take to restore their water system

I hope that normal life is restored to your sister as soon as possible.

The stresses these folks suffered and are still suffering and the economic losses they suffered are mind boggling.

Unfortunately, I fear that some may never recover from emotional scars and financial turmoil.

We need to keep them in our prayers and support recovery efforts. I think the clean ups and restorations will continue for some extended time.

What a shame. It's very sad, the ripple effect that this tragedy has had on SO many people.
