Just ordered a.357 Big Boy Carbine

Post by Coach » Fri Oct 18, 2024 7:06 pm

I’ve been trying to get this Henry for 2 years.

I was on my LGS waiting list the whole time and I think they forgot about me.

I bought a case of.357 last week and rattled their cage again.

That worked and they called me today and said it was available to order from their distributor.

It will take about 3 weeks to get it in my hands because, first they have to get it delivered. Then I have to wait another 10 days to cool off because of California laws before I can pick it up.

I’m going to put a scope on it because I frankly can’t see great anymore.

I like being able to see where I hit…

I purchased one when they first came out and I love to shoot it. The only draw back is it's quite heavy
and I would hate to carry it very far in the woods.
It sure is pretty though.

Congrats Coach hope you like it because you have waited a long time to get it. That 10 day waiting period is BS. Agree with Coop on the heavy to.

Many congrats and you will like it I hope! I have the older version and only thing I could wish for is that it was a side loader like my newer X model 45 Colt. Just something about shoving in couple rounds as you shoot!

Yes, it’s a side and tube loader.

You can do both.

Congrats, I got the carbine and I like it a lot. I am sure you are aware but look it over well before you accept it because you never know. I waited a year for mine and it had a front sight that was jammed in crooked and I did not notice it until I got home. They fixed it immediately but I should have seen it.

I will definitely check it out.

I’m scoping it and having the LGS owner do it for me. It’s a service that he offers for free and has done it for me before on some of my AR’s.

I buy most all my guns from him.

Here’s a couple of set up’s he’s done for me.

Coach, as a resident of a state that wants to better California with gun control I appreciate the pics of your AR’s. Looking good!

Yes, Washington is trying to out do California.

Both of these guns are neutered with mag locks on them. It really takes the fun out of using them…

I have to pull the pin, crack them open then remove the magazine. Put the magazine back in, close them, push the pin in and then chamber a round.

Still do use them though.

I had to do the mag locks so they don’t become “assault” rifles and be registered as one.

Silly laws…

Here in Oregon too. Currently no backlog for background checks by Oregon State Police.
Court case pending though over Measure 114.
