Seems we've entered our fall/winter rainy season. Got a good mild, but thorough drenching last night. Days ahead look similar.

another day, another medical appointment .... this one with a retina specialists was for Maureen .... tomorrow will bring the return of physical therapy for my knee .... at 3:55 PM its still a degree short of the predicted high of 65 .... a chilly 47 degree overnight low is predicted .... 0% chance of rain today .... tomorrow's 55% of a brief morning shower is the only mention of rain in our 10 day forecast .... haven't had to plug a tire in a while but this morning I noticed a low tire on the '05 Trailblazer that our daughter drives .... oh well, at least, it nice to take a vehicle to a repair garage and come out with a bill for $20

47 this morning with a windchill bringing it down to feeling like 45 .. :? .. first time windchill has been mentioned in a good while .... predicted high 61 .... if it comes to be, they say tomorrow night's low will fall into the mid to upper 30's .... just heard on the morning news that there are still 92 people still missing in western NC .... friends and family tell us that while things are slowly improving, it is going to take several years for things to get back to anywhere near normal .... first up this morning, I have an appointment for physical therapy .... looking forward to it, the same folks really helped me 7 years ago when I had my first knee replacement

Good morning, got the small wood racked up and all the large pieces piled up.
Then after helping the misses on a couple projects I went and cut some more.
Only about a third of what I previously cut, and that was about all the back wanted.
A little chilly here at 37 this AM and yes I did build a small fire in the heater. :D
Just to knock the chill off, much cheaper then turning the heat on. ;)
Only 63 for the high later.

Oh yeah, today is #2 grandson's 9th BD.
Our miracle baby, my little outdoorsman. ;)

I’ve been watching this coyote out the window for about a half hour. He is chasing field mice and have caught three. He eats them whole like hors d’oeuvres.

Good work Wylie keep it up!

Woke up to a very strange weather condition this morning. Wasn’t sure what it was as it’s been a long time since we have experienced….. rain! :D . Hooray we sure need it. Hit the lawn with fall fertilizer yesterday in anticipation of this strange weather event.

52 this morning with on and off showers today. Good day to do some indoor projects.

Likewise, but did the fall fertilizer Monday, before the rains moved in that night.

another day, another Dr.'s appointment .... absolutely nothing new about that .... 44 now on its way to 64 later this afternoon .... the 10 day forecast doesn't call for any rain .... it does call for daily highs in the upper 60's to low 70's with night lows mostly in the 40's .... we will no doubt have some days in the low 80's but they will quickly come to an end until next spring ....

A good friend and former Railroad cop just had a full knee replacement on Monday. Mr. tough guy was going to get
by with Tylenol but texted me yesterday to take over his job as Chair of the Holding Corp as he was going for the
good drugs and shouldn't be signing anything for a few days.
I assured him I would take care of things and that he should be comfortable.
We're both members of the Holding Corp for our American Legion Post and we're trying to sell some property. The buyers
have been told they must respond by tomorrow so someone will need to sign. I hope he's feeling better by then.

My surgery was six weeks ago now and I'm back to normal and feeling better than I have for years.
BTW, I didn't take the pain pills more than one day.

Hope so but the weather guy this morning said most of the rain was going around this area. Darn it. We may see a little bit later this afternoon.

34 now with a high of 54 later. Nice tomorrow and Saturday with a rainy day expected Sunday. Then getting cold next week with consecutive days with below freezing overnight temps. Guess I’d better winterize the motorhome.

Good morning 38° here, with a high around 74 later. I'm not quite sure what's on the agenda for the day. May check the zero on a couple of hunting rifles.

Looks like me in the above pic.

A very brisk 27 out there and my lawn is all a sparkle. Sure is getting light later and later, it’s time to take the dogs for a hike and it’s still dark (ish). High today is 54 with sunshine. Playing golf starting at 11:00 so the temps will be fine for that. Nice tomorrow and part of Sunday with rain Sunday night and Monday. Thank you!. Then cold again with overnight temps in the 20’s. I guess this weekend I’ll winterize the motorhome and blow out the sprinklers. Two chores that definitely mark the end of summer.

OK ..... first up this morning was to go and vote .... today we chose to drive to a polling center at our local community college .... its a pretty good size operation .... its been a little over 3 weeks since having a knee replacement and the temp being in the mid 50's with a steady cold breeze, we chose "Curbside Voting" .... this is the first time doing so and I have to hand it to them, they really made the process quick and easy .... when the person came back after running my ballot through the tabulator, she said it was the number 1,974 .... early voting has only been going on for 1 day plus about 2 hours so they have been pretty busy .... I asked her that since I've voted, will that stop all of the political commercials..?.. she responded, "one can only hope" .. ;) .. the North Carolina State Fair opened yesterday afternoon .... the good news is, no rain is forecasted during this year's fair .... from what they say, that is pretty rare

The high today is going to be 75 and the low tonight will be 55. It’s going to be like this for a few more days. The bright fall colors are beginning to fade and the leaves are falling fast. Even though it’s warm now we have had a few frost down in the 20’s.
